Orange really has nothing for the tourist.

Orange really has nothing for the tourist. It's a nice town, but you've seen it all in a day or so. It's a bit of a drab place. We ate at local returned servicemens club which was excellent Parking is a pain; it's reverse angle.

The choice of cafes and restaurants was very good.

The choice of cafes and restaurants was very good. The Parkview Hotel had good food at a reasonable price. The service was also good. We walked from De Russie Hotel - about 3 blocks just near the park.

There are many places to eat on the main strip in Orange.

There are many places to eat on the main strip in Orange. The best place we found was the Village Bakery. It has lovely pies, sandwiches and pastries highly recommend a visit for breakfast. Also visit the Parrot distillery for a taste of the locally brewed gin. We traveled from cobar to orange in the peak of summer. Just a heads up on this route in summer early Jan one passes many towns where there is hardly anything open due to the summer heat. Recommend you carry lots of water, plenty of snacks and a Jerry can of fuel in case you run out. Also please be mindful of stray goats on this route. Not many emue or kangaroo on this part of our journey. We traveled in the daylight hours so not sure of night.

Orange has a very interesting history and it is well worth a visit to the Regional Museum and a bus tour of Orange is highly recommended. The Cook Park is a beautiful heritage park also called Orange Botanic Gardens established 150 years ago with trees testament to their age The view from Mt Canobolas is worth a trip and it's so easy to get around Orange even by foot taking in some beautiful houses and bigger estates. There is also an Art Gallery and a Music Conservatorium in Orange. We had 2 fabulous meals at Birdie Noshery and at Union Bank but there are many cafes to choose from for casual dining. If wineries are of interest Orange boasts several well established and award winning wineries in the region which are mostly open for tastings. There is a monthly growers Market in Orange. Orange is surrounded by some historical and pretty villages relatively close by such as Molong Millthorpe Canowandra and others.

Very nice old style town with a great variety or architecture, shops and restaurants. We went to the lake, and to an unusual and very entertaining Chinese restaurant. Weather was fantastic in late September it was spring blossoms with cool evening’s beautiful sunny days.

A very comfortable town house for a short stay in central Orange NSW. Close to info centre, restaurants, cafes and shops. 3 Bdrm and fully air conditioned (dining room only)+ fans in most rooms. The house is pretty cool in any event due to style of construction. There is one bathroom with shower, spa and toilet for all occupants. Everything was spotless. Kitchen was well equipped and well stocked with basic ingredients; milk, coffee pods, sugar etc. Gated area to park your vehicle within. Pretty good value short term stay.

The hotel is in a really convenient spot right in town and is easy to get to. Noise - there wasn't any. I asked for a quiet room because I was travelling for work and saw a few reviews say it's noisy. They gave me a room on the second floor way up the back and yeah - dead silent. Room itself was basic but clean and there was reverse cycle air con so easy to keep warm. Reception staff were really friendly and helpful. Food at the downstairs pub was also really good.

Do you remember how a lot of the historic pub hotels in the 90's and 00's were falling apart? This is one of the pub hotels that got their act together. The modern finishings make this cosy histroic building a nice place to stop after a long day of travelling. The staff were exceptionally helpful and went out of the way to make life easier.

Perfect location if you don't want to be right in the middle of Orange. The bed was really comfortable and the room was so quiet and spacious! We really had the best rest we needed. We could spot some lovely Eastern Rosellas from our window in the morning. The front desk staff were always nice and helpful. We really liked our stay.

I liked the location being very convenient to restaurants and public transport. The Indian restaurant on campus was great! Loved the food they served there. The motel had early checkout facilities which made it convenient for us to do early checkouts as we had to leave at dawn to continue our trip.

The hotel is convenient located. They provided complimentary bottled water daily. The fridge was spacious and lots of power points available. The building may be old but our deluxe room was clean and comfortable. They had a lift which made it easy - we have a pram.

Stylish, comfortable, well located, friendly helpful staff, excellent breakfast - one of the best small hotels we've experienced anywhere and from now on our #1 choice in Orange. Lovely late 19th century building cleverly restored and reimagined.

Lovely boutique hotel with a generous continental breakfast. Great 2 bedroom apartment style for two couples. One of the beds however was too soft, so my brother-in-law slept on the lounge as his back started to hurt.

Nice and cosy room with all the amenities that you would expect. It is in a working winery but all the staff were extremely friendly and willing to chat and answer any questions. The wine is also very good.
