Campground Broome Bird Observatory
1 Crab Creek Road, 6725 Broome, Australia – Great location - show map
The facilities were older, but well kept. The camp kitchen, and the people were wonderful. Location and bird life, outstanding. It is a great community of people who are passionate about wildlife, the environment, and sustainability. The camp kitchen in particular was a great place to hang out at the end of the day and watch the wildlife. The walks along Roebuck Bay were exceptional. We didn't get to do a bird tour this time, but will be back to do it in the future!

Really enjoyed our stay. It was quiet & peaceful and far from the madding crowd.

The peace and quiet. The animals and birds. You could hear the waves. Every one was friendly.

This is an extraordinary place for nature lovers, birder and lovers of nature. The resident naturalists do a great job of sharing information and running tours.

Love the isolation and how it was kept to the natural enviroment.

It was such a lovely place to be to get some understanding of the bird life at Roebuck Bay. The guides were well qualified and passionate about their work. It’s a not for profit organization and it gives people to learn a lot about birds. The bathrooms and kitchen were great and the new information centre, when it opens, will be a wonderful asset. It was a great visit.

The staff and volunteers are passionate scientists - they are generous with their knowledge and time. What a lovely - interesting, different tourist experience!

It was a very tranquil place. The shade house was brilliant- watching the birds and wallabies coming in to drink. The kitchen was very clean and well organised.

We enjoyed talking to the amazing staff. The tours were a wonderful way to see the country and learn about the birds and their habitats. The shade house was an excellent place to gather to meet other like minded guests and watch the animals at the drinking bowls. We had a great feeling of peace away from the city.

6:30pm every night talk about bird, warm char with staff, recommended!

Hello, I am wondering if an AWD car will be sufficient to get down the road? Where is the nearest grocery store? Thank youAWD vehicles usually have no problem accessing the BBO when Crab Creek Rd is dry and open (can be checked on Broome Shire road condition reports). The nearest grocery stores are the supermarkets in Broome.Answered on May 8, 2021
