beautiful and well kept cottage. loved the view of the river. and also the experience of seeing kangaroo and wallabies from close. the sky was so clear so we could see so many stars. kitchen had most things in it so that made it easy to cook. so glad we booked for 3 nights and not 2.

the property is absolutely amazing, so peaceful and relaxing, the animals came and visited us even had breakfast with us, finding out some of the history of the homes was amazing, you can even walk around the property and see the chock’s, the kangaroo’s even the wildlife is amazing, the Guinea fowel are a bread of their own.

Continental breakfast was provided which was a pleasant surprise. The property is filled with character, nicely renovated, spotlessly clean, really well appointed and there were many generous provisions: toiletries, condiments, tissues, gladwrap, alfoil, games, books and outdoor equipment. Nestled on the edge of Booderee NP it is completely private, yet on the waterfront of Sussex Inlet. With your own jetty you can catch fish for dinner, watch the world go by, travel to a range of spectacular beaches within a stone's throw. Lots of wildlife, peace and tranquility. Friendly hosts who are there if you need them, but allow you your privacy. Close to Vincentia if you have any last minute forgotten items, or you can swim across to Sussex township to buy bait, a brave and exciting experience. Truly a hidden gem, we have found our favourite holiday spot.

I loved the location and the privacy, the hosts weren't intrusive. I really liked all the homey touches at the cottage. It was great having the animals so close, and sitting by the lake in the morning with a cuppa. It was so quiet as well which was nice.

    Yes the hosts live at the property, the cottage is seperate from the owners residence. We are 4 km from The cove.

  • Is it safe to swim in the river nearby, and is there a beach? Thanks Lis
    Yes it’s safe to swim in the river. Bewherre beach is a 4 km drive away or you can hire boats from across the river and go down to the Sussex inlet entrance. Hyams beach,caves beach , green patch is a 15 minute drive away.
