Breakfast was satisfactory as we don't eat very much. But everything was there if we chose to eat more.

Michael Australia

The comfort and spaciousness of the accommodation was excellent and a major attraction. Also the facilities, including kitchen fitout, laundry and living areas were first class. The location of the accom was excellent, provided you like a quiet country town with very little local amenities (one pub open 6 days and a modest general store).

Trevor Australia

Beautifully restored church in the quiet township of Kalangadoo (about 30 km from Penola). Friendly & helpful hosts. Appreciated the provision of wine, tea, coffee, bread & basic pantry items. It was lovely to be greeted by Jimmy the Shetland pony who lives next door. We enjoyed the artwork so much, we even bought some of it.

Tracey Australia

The unique accommodation is a great place to stay and get away from the hustle and bustle of bigger country towns.

Georgina Australia

Beautiful little town with very friendly locals. The accommodation was exceptional, every single room had a lovely piece of art and was so perfectly presented. Margie gave fabulous communication in regard to getting there, how to get in, local area. We are already looking for a date to return

Paul Australia

A very helpful Jes who met us at the property to let us in and show us around

Barbara Australia

Beautifully renovated. Perfect for our family of 5 to enjoy a relaxing night stopover from Melbourne to Adelaide. Would love to book again with a couple of friends for a weekend in the Coonawarra.

Kim Australia

Airy, spacious, quirky and very well finished. We would love to live there if it was in our home town

Anonymous United Kingdom

The renovation of the church to accommodation is well done. It is a very airy, comfortable space, with all sleeping areas separated by at least two walls - very quiet and peaceful. Lots of attention to detail and well equipped kitchen. Being a small rural town it was easy to escape light pollution and see the an incredible spread of stars. The Milky Way was so clear - it was just like outback camping, but in a much more comfortable and accessible location! The local hotel, which is only a couple of minutes walk away is full of yesteryear character and friendly staff.

Duncan United Kingdom

I cannot rate this property more. The pictures don't convey the size. With 3 separate bathrooms, 3 bedrooms, a kitchen and kitchenette, you could have it fully occupied and not feel like it. Easy drice to Coonawarra wineries and Mount Gambier. Easy check in process, would stay again

Margaret and Paul Jupe

Cloisters of Kalangadoo's position makes it central to the world famous Coonawarra wine region (15 minutes drive north), the world heritage listed Naracoorte Caves (50 minutes) and still has easy access to Mount Gambier (40 minutes) and the natural wonder of the Blue Lake, its many sink holes and underground caves, as well as the Glenelg River in Victoria. Port MacDonnell is famous for it's rock lobster (50 minutes south). Have you ever stayed in a magnificently restored church with all modern conveniences of the 21st century - Cloisters of Kalangadoo will you give you this experience with a home away from home atmosphere.

When we first looked at purchasing this magnificent property it had a welcoming feeling but now that it has been renovated over the last 2 years you will be transported in to another world with the high ceilings, beautiful architecture and a wonderfully peaceful atmosphere.
