AustraliaOur stay was amazing :) Bek was really helpful but not intrusive and the cottage was clean, comfortable and beautiful with views over the forest and out to the sea. Lots of wildlife in the immediate vicinity of the cottages too. Was the perfect location for a quiet trip away while still being local to pretty much everything the Otways had to offer. Would definitely stay again :)

AustraliaThe cabin facilities are in keeping with the beautiful bush environment, the views are breathtaking and dramatic bush valleys are within metres of the cabins. I appreciated the secure grassed enclosure for children or dogs. Beautiful drives to Johanna Beach, Aire Valley Hordern Vale & Cape Otway lighthouse and Gellibrand. Frankly though, having been in the area many times and enjoyed the local highlights, I just wanted to hang out at the cabin, take walks and enjoy the ambience. Thanks Bo & Neal. It wasn't my first visit, it won't be my last.

Is there a shuttle available to get to the closest beach nearby? What are the other transportation options?Most certainly! Walk 91 are efficient, experienced and courteous and can co-ordinate pick up and drop offs anywhere along the Great Ocean Walk. Peter Filllmore's Great Ocean Walk Shuttle is new but Pete is well known to us. Both are highly recommended and can be located via a google search. We are prevented from publishing their contact details on booking dot com but they have a strong web presence and have proved very knowledgeable and reliable.Answered on November 15, 2019

Good evening, We are looking at 4 nights from Wednesday 31 March to check out on Sunday 4 April & would like to confirm some details about the room. How can I get to the closest beach from the property?Being on the coast Glenaire provides access to some of the most spectacular beaches in the world. Either by car, shuttle or walking. Castle Cove Beach is the closest only 1500 metres from the cottage. Johanna and Glenaire Beach are either side , linked by the Great Ocean Walk and accessible by car and shuttle. Glenaire Beach offers the relatively safety of the Aire River Estuary while Apollo Bay, 35 kilometres to the East offers the only safely patrolled swimming Beach 30 minutes drive along the Great Ocean Road. From our experience both as travellers and hosts we have learned the essential requirements are comfort, convenience, privacy and to be surrounded by beauty. That is what we gaurantee!
Situated on The Great Ocean Road at Glenaire, 35 kilometres west of Apollo Bay, Glenaire Cottages boast four self-contained cottages set in 100 acres of natural Australian bush, with views of The Southern Ocean.
Two cottages, Lake & Cove, offer air-con and undercover outside spa baths overlooking the spectacular view. Cape & Forest Cottages are slightly less expensive and do not include air-con but do include inside spa baths within their bathrooms. All offer privacy and comfort and include TV’s, wood fires, fully equipped galley kitchens, private BBQ’s and under cover parking and access to our private walking trail.
Glenaire is a remote, natural environment where birdlife, koalas, wallabies and kangaroos thrive and where natural beauty, hiking, star gazing and relaxing are the key attractions
Neil trained as an actor, writer and musician while Bo graduated as a costume designer. They met touring with the Melbourne Theatre Company and gained a wealth of experience in the performing arts before settling in Glenaire to run their boutique hospitality venture.
Glenaire is strategically located midway along the Great Ocean Road and boasts a dramatic landscape of forest and ocean with spectacular views teeming with native wildlife. Lush with greenery and birdsong it is both relaxing and convenient to the attractions that make the Great Ocean Road one of the most sought after destinations in the world.
