An amazing homestead with great accomodation in the Maid's quarters cottage. Garry & Sharyn were great hosts and Garry gave us a suggestion for our evening meal at the Farmers Arms Hotel in Beeac. A great stay and we thoroughly enjoyed our visit. The Scenery around the house is exceptional with the Red Rock lookouts right behind the property.

We stayed in Monash cottage which is an old Monash University field station. It was very unique but had plenty of room. It has all the facilities if you want to self cater but the hosts recommendation of the Farmers Arms Hotel in Beeac for dining is well worth the 20 minute drive. And pets were allowed. The property backs on to the Red Rock volcano and you can either walk or take a five minute drive up to the viewing areas.

We stayed in Monash Cottage, perfect self contained cottage with so much history yet modern enough, it was like staying in the modern house but located in a farm, surrounded by the green hill, East facing frontage means your family and your pet will love sitting in the living room under the morning sun but not feeling the cold wind. Red Rock Scenery Point is just a stone away and great place to enjoy beautifu 360 degree sunset and sunrise. Owner Gary and Sharwn were really great couple, showed us their beautiful big house which was built in 1873, a truly remarkable big house with a class and history behind. We really want to recommend other people to stay in this property to explore the area and the history.

  • Hi! I see you accept pets at Monash Cottage, which is awesome! Can you please advise if there is secure fencing of a reasonable height. Our dog is quite large and, although well behaved, used to a small garden & might get a bit too excited at the prospect of ‘too much room to run’! Thanks. Nikki

  • I have a medium dog (17 kg) to take with me. I am planning to book for Monday 21 to Wednesday 23 December with my family (2 adults in total, and 2 kids). Is it alright for you with the dog?
    We do accept pets in Monash Cottage, however not in Maids Quarters

Welcome to Coragulac House Cottages, the Cottages are located on the Grounds of Coragulac House, a 30 room Blue stone homestead built in 1873. Both Cottages are fully equipped self contained apartments and are completely private and secure with stunning views of the landscape, you can be assured of a peaceful and relaxing stay, taking in all that country life has to offer. You are welcome to bring along your pets which can be accommodated in Monash Cottage (two bedroom house)

Coragulac House Cottages are situated on the grounds of the historic Coragulac House built in 1873 on 140 acres, with two accommodation options available Maids Quarters (Deluxe Apartment) located in the south wing of the Homestead or our Pet Friendly Monash Cottage (two bedroom house) located to the rear of the homestead adjacent to the original Coach House and Stables, quite and peaceful. The cottages are private with accommodation for up to 4 persons, with separate living area, two bedrooms and separate bathroom and toilet. Private and secure with ample parking, shaded grounds and exceptional views of the landscape The Cottages are on a working Farm with livestock, friendly cows, donkeys and goats. The cottages are located at the base of Red Rock Scenic Lookout, it is a lovely walk up to the lookout to see 360 degree views of the local area, the views are amazing. Red Rock Winery is also a short distance away.

Neighborhood info

Coragulac and Alvie are littered with dormant volcano's, creating a unique landscape of hills and lakes. Lake Corangamite is Australia's largest inland lake with a circumference of 168 kms located just behind Red Rock Scenic Lookout. Cororooke township is 2 minutes from Coragulac has a general store which provides all the necessities including a bottle shop for a nice drop of vino and the Cororooke Theatre and Art Gallery is also worth a look. Coragulac House is only 12 minutes for the centre of Colac, Coragulac Cottages are well located for short or longer stays.
