Poet's Cottage provides elegant Blue Mountains accommodation in historic Wentworth Falls village. It's a quick 5 minute drive from charming Leura village where you can wander and enjoy the delights of the many specialty shops, restaurants and cafes. The stylishly restored 106 year old cottage offers chic living amid old world charm. Self-contained, with plenty of pampering comforts, the cottage offers an open plan lounge and dining area, new kitchen and two bathrooms. Snuggle up in the three bedrooms with queen bed, double bed, one king single and two single beds. Watch honeyeaters sip flower nectar from your large entertainment deck, or wander through the established garden before enjoying the world heritage-listed Blue Mountains National Park, which backs onto your back gate. Then return to the cottage for a pampering spa. Located just an hour and a half from Sydney, Poet's Cottage is perfect for couples, families, business travelers and nature and bird lovers. The former home of a celebrated Australian poet, the Cottage combines a cultural and historical experience with elegant luxury. We would like for you to experience our little piece of heaven!
Poet's Cottage - Blue Mountains Tranquility has been lovingly restored and re-built as a tribute to my father - a celebrated Blue Mountains poet and writer. I hope that you will enjoy the cottage, the natural beauty of its garden and the mountains that he treasured.
Wentworth Falls is a beautiful historic town in the upper Blue Mountains, offering some of the most spectacular treks, views and a heavenly slice of charming township life in Australia. Famous Leura village is just a few minutes drive away. Originally called ‘Weatherboard’ after the ‘Weatherboard Hut’ built there in 1814, one year later the town was named ‘Jamison’s Valley’ by Governor Macquarie. In July 1867 the historic first railway journey in the Blue Mountains left Penrith station and traveled through to Weatherboard Station where the train terminated. In 1879 its name was changed to Wentworth Falls in honour of William Charles Wentworth, one of the three famous English explorers to first travel through the Blue Mountains. The area is renowned for it's charming cafes, restaurants, shops, golf course and lake. With numerous spectacular walks and views, visitors should allow at least two days to enjoy the area.
