  • hi am travelling to cairns for the night but we arrive 00:00am on the 17/11/2022, are we able to get a late check in please and also airport transfers
    you for your enquiry regarding an early check in on 17 November. We offer a ‘self check in facility’ so an early AM arrival is no problem. Taxis and Uber meet all arrivals at Cairns airport. Please keep in mind check out is before 10AM.

    Rainforest house has two apartments. The owners live in the first floor apartment above the BnB.

Rain-forest house 🏡Cairns is nestled on the slopes of the Mount Whitfield 🌴Conservation area, 8 km north of Cairns central and ⌚10 minutes 🚗 drive from the ✈✈ airport. The apartment offers 3 air-conditioned bedrooms, 1 bathroom, a comfortable living area incorporating living room, kitchenette, dining, ceiling fans, internet and smart TV. The outdoor pool entertainment area is surrounded by 🌺tropical gardens ensuring privacy. There is safe on street parking and entry through a locked gate.
Peter is a retired teacher interested in adult education and training, especially in the marine industry. Worked and lived internationally over thirteen years in Vietnam, Tanzania and Zimbabwe. Rose and I sailed our 14m yacht from Australia to South Africa, Kenya, Seychelles, Thailand and Malaysia. Returning to Australia after a 6 year journey. As travellers, guests and hosts we like to keep a low profile.
The neighbourhood: By car, the apartment is 10 minutes from Cairns International/Domestic airport, 15 minutes from Cairns City and the Great Barrier Reef Cruisers, 2 minutes to Freshwater Historic Station and the Kuranda Railway, 10 minutes to the Kuranda Sky Rail. One hour to Port Douglas, 45 minutes to Kuranda by car and one hour to Mareeba, the Atherton Tablelands and Lake Tinaroo. A five-minute walk downhill takes you to the local bus stop on Old Smithfield Road from which you can connect to all parts north or south.
