    Cute little town.

Cute little town. Such friendly service, particularly at the Grand Hotel where we spent new years eves as out of towners. Closes early and taxI services are limited later in evening. The beach is gorgeous and a nice little walk. Would love to take my dogs here.

There are numerous wineries and most have good wines but not all opens early. Most open at 11.00am hence would delay in visiting other wineries for tasting. Sea food is very fresh and manage to get fresh oyster for my morning breakfast (had 2 dozens of it). Unfortunately most store dont open for business mondays to wednesday during winter hence have limited time visiting.

Port Arlington is an undiscovered gem.

Port Arlington is an undiscovered gem. Nice wineries and distilleries close by and The Grand Hotel in the main street was excellent, we were so impressed with our meals and service. If you have bikes the cycle to St Leonards was easy along the water front. Lots of little cafes and places to eat and it just had a very relaxed feel. We would definitely visit again. The views also from Jack Rabbit winery were absolutely breathtaking and we had a great wine tasting with Peter at Lethbridge Winery - well worth a visit.

    Good location and friendly staff.

Good location and friendly staff. Park right outside your door. Just 400m from the town centre with plenty of eating options. The bakery is fantastic. Best egg and bacon roll ever. The ferry is too far either.

It’s a gorgeous wee coastal town with several eating options especially later in the week. We have been here before on the ferry from Docklands. We had our car on this trip and drove back to Melbourne via the Queenscliff ferry to Sorrento. There are lots of vineyards to visit close by. On this occasion tho’ we visited Basil’s Farm for lunch.

Portarlington is still relatively undeveloped, no high-rise hotel complexes, though they are being planned. Good for relaxing! If you like quirky places with great tasting food, go to Saints and Sailors for their gumbo. And book in advance for their entertainment nights as they book out quickly. Lovely beaches in Portarlington. Tasty mussels. A strip of shops with variety of cafes, and Woolies around the corner. On the way in from Drysdale is Jack Rabbit winery with great food and amazing bay views from their hilltop. Only 23kms to Queenscliff and Point Lonsdale for more beaches, cafes and galleries etc.
