The cooked breakfast was extremely nicely cooked, more than adequate, served with a friendly face. Was made to feel very welcome. Was easy to find and very close to the centre of Bridgetown. The grounds of the property was stunning and a treat to walk around, plenty of native birds, the river running through.

AustraliaRick and Kate’s B&B is a great experience for those who want to experience staying in a bed and breakfast whilst being able to look out at the river flowing past their property, walking beside the river while being close enough to a town and having a base to explore the surrounds. It’s a comfortable place to base. Rick and Kate are obliging hosts.

Our room was spacious, clean and comfortable and we were immediately drawn to the balcony overlooking the beautiful garden and river. It was so relaxing to sit out on it and watch the little fairy wrens and a few rabbits coming and going. Rick and Kate were the perfect hosts, welcoming but not intrusive. Kate cooked a delicious breakfast with all the trimmings for my husband and I enjoyed the home made muesli with fresh fruit and yoghurt. I have no hesitation in recommending this B & B

Rickaty on Blackwood is part of a small vineyard and olive grove situated on the banks of the Blackwood River only 2.5 kilometres from the centre of Bridgetown.
We purchased this property in 1996 after falling in love with it during a weekend trip from Perth. At that time there was only one gum tree and a rustic old wooden shed standing on ten acres of pasture. The view of the river, birdlife and the ambiance convinced us that this is where we wanted to establish a B&B. Over the years we gradually developed the property establishing the vineyard, olive grove and planting a number of trees. In 2007 we commenced building the house, Bed and Breakfast and establishing the garden. The Bed and Breakfast opened in June 2010.
Beautiful Bridgetown is situated in the heart of the South West of Western Australia in the Blackwood River Valley. A picturesque place to stay with numerous tourist and restaurant facilities. Being the hub of the south west, day trips to surrounding towns, forests, and the countryside is a major attraction. After all, it is only a one and a half hour drive to the ocean.
