It is hard to choose exactly what I liked most about this stay... The beds are heavenly, the tents, whilst rustic, are very unique. The location would be hard to beat and it has some of the best snorkelling on offer in Coral Bay. SUPs, snorkel gear and kayaks are all on offer to be used. The staff are some of the best people you will ever come across. Particular mention needs to go to Jess, Simo and Chet (the amazing Chef). It isn't really a 'stay'. Sals Salis is an experience. The food is some of the best I have ever eaten ever (anywhere) which is incredible given the remoteness of the location. The daily activities are all included and were always great. Sunrise yoga was a favourite. Yes, it is expensive, but it is unique and I think worth it. There is no wifi at the property which I hope they never change. You can truly be present here and escape for a little bit.

Sal Salis went out of its way to make this a great experience. The staff were amazing, and the food exceptional. Beachside location with organised activities like accompanied snorkeling was great. Location in a national park is excellent and Marine Biologists on staff facilitates great insights - like when we came across loggerhead turtles hatching.

We loved our holiday at Sal Salis, from the tents with the incredible views of the ocean where you could see whales breaching, the seclusion, being cut off from technology, the food, staff, activities, snorkeling off the beach was all do fantastic.

Sal Salis Ningaloo Reef is an exclusive safari camp, hidden in the white sand dunes of Western Australia’s Cape Range National Park.

Sal Salis features 15 spacious wilderness tents which are just yards from the water’s edge, home to one of the world’s greatest fringing coastal coral reef. Each tent features an en suite natural composting bathroom. Native herb soaps and ecologically sound shampoos are provided.

The chef at Sal Salis prepares contemporary cuisine consisted of of local ingredients, served in the outdoor dining area with clear views of the Indian Ocean sunset. In the evening kangaroos and wallaroos appear from the bush for their evening graze.

The camp’s expert staff offers insight to one of Australia’s best kept natural secrets, Ningaloo Reef. Sal Salis’s ecological principles ensure that guests have a minimal impact on the natural surroundings.

Guests can enjoy many unique nature activities, including sea kayaking, wildlife viewing, gorge walks and star gazing.

The Exmouth (Learmonth) Airport is less than a 2-hour drive and the Exmouth town center is about one-hour away. Shuttle service is available.

Sal Salis Ningaloo Reef is located in the heart of two world heritage listed areas. Our guided experiences focus very much on the natural world around us and are designed to ensure you have fun but that you learn something too. We want you to be inspired and feel enriched, that you have gained something from your stay (more than just a suntan!). As we are unable to offer internet or mobile phone coverage (given our remote location) we believe Sal Salis offers guests the very special experience of connecting with nature and loved ones, whilst disconnecting from the world!! Of course we do have a land-line so family can track you down if something is urgent but it is a lovely feeling to turn off your mobile and put your computer away for a few days!

Neighborhood info

White sand beaches, turquoise waters, red rock ranges, blue skies by day and the most stars you will ever see by night. Whale sharks and dolphins, humpback whales and orcas, manta rays and more swim past Sal Salis every day. Turtles nest on our beach and kangaroos find shade around the camp. There are no shops and no televisions but there is snorkel gear and kayaks and guides who love to take you into the Ranges for a sunset walk, or an early morning paddle out to the Blue Lagoon ....
