Lynne and Darryl were fantastic, friendly and super helpful hosts. The accommodation was very spacious and comfy, and the pool was amazing. A short walk to the local shops and cafe and a stone's throw to the beach made the location an excellent base to explore the area.

Salamander Beach Accommodations is an adults-only property, located 650 feet walk to Salamander Beach and ideally located near the Salamander Village Shops. All air-conditioned rooms have private entrances and wrap around the tropical gardens and have views of the solar heated salt water pool. Free WiFi is provided.

Best described as an Adults only guest house because of its uniqueness. Our rooms are large at 55m2 and they all have a different décor, so choose which one you like before you book. The home was purpose built to accommodate guests with 3 of the 4 rooms on the ground floor with the owners living upstairs. All rooms have their own private lockale access including the fourth room that is upstairs. All four rooms have access to the pool and or garden views and the outdoor BBQ and kitchen. We have a beautiful solar heated salt water pool, set at 28 degrees, that is very popular for 8-9 months of the year. The surrounding gardens to the pool area and adjoining seating areas are tropical and very relaxing. We are only a 2 minute walk to Salamander Beach where you can fish, kayak, swim, picnic or just walk the 1.5km sandy beach or take the grass route on the reserve if you choose. Restaurants are very handy with a Thai, Chinese, and Rick Steins and the local bowling club that provides amazing meals and cheap drinks all within 900m of your room.
Lynne and I whilst new to this type of accommodation have been in hospitality for a combined 35 years. Prior to that we were both in business management positions for most of our working lives. We are all alone now and this is sort of semi-retirement for us. We are enjoying the interaction with people from many cultures very much.
Where do you start when talking about the "Blue water Wonderland". So much to see and do with whale and dolphin watching as well as a swim with the dolphins experience now available. Then there is the world famous Stockton Beach, where you can fish, hike, swim at the patrolled beach or ride quad bikes, camels and or have a 4WD bus guided tour. In Nelson Bay you can parasail, scuba dive. snorkel, take a fishing charter trip, or a dinner cruise on the bay. You can also hike, ride or 4WD to your hearts content in the 45,000 hectares of Tomaree National Park, and wetlands. Port Stephens also has one of the largest populations of Koalas in Australia. If you just want to relax there are amazing lookouts and 26 amazing beaches around the bay to just relax and use the facilities provided, including free electric BBQ's, undercover seating or shady trees and enjoy the amazing views. This is an adults only property.
