We love the tall trees - the fresh mountain air - the views of Melbourne city lights at night from SkyHigh Mt Dandenong. We love exploring the eclectic shops and eateries. Our most special joy though is the nature, bird song, wild life we see from day to day - we never want to leave!

Santosa Cottage talks to our collective desire for something cozy, small, and warm. With it’s simple aesthetic and rustic charms this lovely little A-Frame sits perfectly in the forest surrounded by towering trees and the sweet sounds of the local birdlife. Set over two levels you will naturally be drawn to the top level where you can spend the evening in front of the wood fire with a bottle of red and then fall into a long and luxurious sleep in the comfortable queen sized bed. To awaken to a generous continental breakfast (for one morning of your stay) that is best enjoyed on the well-appointed deck. If you need a break from the view simply retreat to the lower level where an open plan living area is the perfect spot to watch a movie, listen to music or get lost in a good book. In walking distance to Sassafras Village and Sherbrooke Forest, Santosa Cottage, is the perfect base for an intimate mountain getaway. And although only less than hour from Melbourne the world will feel a million miles away.

Sassafras, Olinda and Mt Dandenong are the 3 beautiful and ecclectic villages in the Dandenongs. There are 5 Public Gardens, thousands of acres of national parks, cafes, 1000 steps to climb if you wish. Or, maybe you'll just choose to lounge about and enjoy a massage, a little gentle exploring of shops .There's as much or as little to do as you wish. A walk to Olinda or a walk through the forest in Sherbrooke, or a drive to the Yarra Valley wonderful wineries will be a beautiful day out. You will, however, come running home to curl up by the fire in the winter! Coffee and breakfast at Ripe. Traditional English tearoom at Miss Marples, but the highlight is a High Tea at Fortnums in Sassafras. Dudleys in Olinda for the best pizza and casual dining.
