We loved the history and atmosphere of the property. Lots of little antique's inside and beautiful gardens to explore. It was very cozy and location was great.
AustraliaWe travel a fair bit both here & overseas. By far this is the best accommodation we have ever stayed in. The cottage was extremely warm & cosy, with so many little thoughtful touches. Full of character & charm. As for the gardens they were simply magical. There are 3 other cottages & the main house, but everything is set apart & private. We never saw anyone else, so peaceful. We are already planning another visit so that we can stay at a different cottage! Would love to read more about the history of Southdown, think it would be fascinating. Thank-you so much for a beautiful weekend.

AustraliaThe beds are super comfy & the cottage was so welcoming. We loved the chickens coming up to the front door & wandering through the beautiful gardens. Bowral was a beautiful town and Fitzroy waterfall was definitely worth a visit.
AustraliaReminded me of a favourite children''s book - The Secret Garden. The gardens were magical, filled with spring flowers, topiary and huge old trees. The Stables accommodation was very comfortable and filled with thoughtful surprises and supplies. My children felt they were staying in a museum of historical bric-a-brac and antiques, which generated much discussion. It was a magical escape and complemented a wonderful family wedding beautifully.🌷

We loved the old world curios and historic items in our accommodation as it added to the charm of the place. I loved the fire- it was much needed as the unusually cold temperature temperatures outside was doing it's best to compete with the well heated Stable. With the fire properly ramped up, we were warm and cosy. The gardens were delightful and we enjoyed our walk around the property.

This 1857- Historic 6 acre gardened estate' Bowral '/Burradoo Bowral Southdown Stable holiday home is 3 minutes’ drive from Bowral city center. Features include a private patio, garden, and free breakfast basket upon arrival.
A kitchenette and a main living area with a wood-burning fireplace, sofa, and flat-screen TV with a DVD player are provided. Extras include towels, linen, and free toiletries.
Guests can enjoy badminton and croquet on site as well as free parking. A washing machine and a tumble dryer are also provided for added convenience. Parking is provided at the cottage for 2 cars.
Moss Vale Golf Club is 5 mi away. The holiday home is 12 minutes’ drive from Berrima Reserve and 18 minutes’ drive from Joadja Vineyards and Winery.

I have been running 4 self-contained cottages on the Southdown Estate since 1989. We have been awarded Excellence in Accommodation awards in 2005 and 2014. I provide the iconic garden estate at Southdown for my quests to enjoy while staying at the 4 cottages
Neighborhood info
The Southern Highlands has 9 beautiful quaint villages, Bowral, Mittagong, Berrima, Moss Vale, Exeter, Sutton Forrest, Bundanoon, Burrawang and Robertson. The many wedding venues, a great selection of cool climate vineyards and National Parks, Fitzroy Falls and walking trails are all within 10-15 minutes drive from "Southdown". There are a great selection of boutique shops, restaurants and cafes. Open gardens are a must visit when you are here and a number of antique shops and the weekend markets. Horse riding is available at Sutton Forrest equestrian centre and sailing on the Fitzroy Falls lake. The Highlands is only 40 minutes to the many beaches and beautiful Kangaroo Valley.
