AustraliaA bit late in posting as I have had a very busy last month. Wanted to say thanks to Cathie for letting us enjoy Muddy. We loved how well thought out Muddy is, and the details like dishwasher, kitchen items, cleanthiness and the asthetics of the place impressed us. We were not planning to cook but having such an amazing kitchen made us want to cook up some meals. It was a great experience. The view is fantastic and I appreciate the thoughtfulness of the hosts for thinking about every little item in Muddy. Highly recommended!!

The Corner Hotel and On Point Brewery were fabulous.
The Corner Hotel and On Point Brewery were fabulous. There are heaps of shops nearby for grocery needs, and plenty of cafes. It's pretty darn close to the rail trailhead and taking the rail trail there is worth the moderate climbs for the incredible views. All the locals we met were so lovely. Second time I've stay at the corner hotel and eaten at there restaurant there famous Parma's where dry and over cooked. Ordered a chicken dish with salad someone needs to tell the chief that a salad is not leaves with a dressing. Alexandra is a lovely Victorian country town - not too big, not too small. It's a great launching place for exploring the region - wineries, rail trail, boating, fishing, camping, bike riding - all good outdoor stuff.. There are food and accomodation options to suit all budgets The staff I met at the places I visited - supermarket, hotel and motor inn, local shops - were all very friendly and helpful. Located in a very picturesque part of Victoria, Alexandra is quite a central place to stay. With short trips to trips to Mt Buller, Mansfield, Healesville and Lake Eildon; there is much to see and do in the area The Alexandra Hotel is quaint and it has retained its old style architecture having a large veranda surrounding the top floor accomodation The staff are extremely helpful and the meals are delicious I would highly recommend a stay here if you appreciate old-style hotel accomodation including shared shower and bathroomGuest review bySue MAustralia

The pair of sheep in the field opposite were sweet and friendly. This location suited us - we were doing the Great Victorian Bike Trail. This spot is an ideal base for that.
