A stunning property nestled in the trees and overlooking the inlet. My family loved having the birds visit on the balcony. The property was a real treat and a hidden gem. We would love to come back again! It definitely made our stay in Denmark! Ric helped us settle in and was very accommodating with our delayed arrival as our car had broken down earlier that day!

  • Hello, are dogs allowed?
    Thank you for your interest in "The Coombe" in Denmark WA. With great regret I have to tell you that dogs are not permitted at "The Coombe", it is a beautiful house most suitable for adults only. It has been recently renovated, is fully carpeted.

    Denmark is a delightful but tiny town, and there are no shuttle buses available for any reason.

At last, at last the Great Southern district is open again for you all to come down to Denmark and enjoy all the wonderful advantages of a holiday on the south coast know now as the Amazing South Coast . You will have the best time, exploring the tall timber country, the simply beautiful beaches with their smooth outcrops of rocks stretching from the shore into the water which are a joy to walk over, walking the Bibbulmun Track or tasting the truly fine wines produced in this excellent climate. Come down and revel in the clean air, enjoy the superb local produce, relax in our lovely home with a glass of wine and watch the birdlife come in to feed. You will never want to leave.
We built the house to retire to but that was not possible so we have always used it as a holiday home with friends and family and have had very happy times, the house is so comfortable and convenient, and of course the stunning views from every room make it very special. Walking is a favourite hobby and there are lots of wonderful oportunites in Denmark. The Bibbulmun Track at the bottom of the garden gives superb views along the edge of Wilson Inlet and will take you all the way to Albany, or in the other direction to the top of Monkey Rock with expansive views along the South Coast and Inlet. Also the famous beaches have outcrops of smooth granite rock formations that run from the beach into the ocean, superb to walk along before walking the wide beach bays, watching the spoonbills, pelicans and other small migratory water birds on the way. The karri forest tracks with the stately tall trees are home to splendid wrens, colourful parrots, firetails, pardelotes and raptors to name a few. At Walpole is the Tree Top Walk, an exciting experience up among the crowns of the karris and the giant Tingle trees. With friends we love to eat delicious food at the wineries in the district.
West lies the Valley of the Giants and Tree Top Walk, north is Mt. Barker with its produce and wineries, east is the Great Southern centre of historic Albany. Eco-tourism includes seasonal wildflowers, whale watching, and bird watching. Whatever your interests, The Coombe is sure to please; perhaps relaxing with a book warming before the Kent Stove, savouring one of Denmark's fine wines at sunset, or just absorbing the fresh clean air and natural serenity from the veranda where you will see many species of bush and water birds in their natural environment.
