the location was perfect, the property was so beautiful and clean. Very private but also loved the communication with the owners. They let you do your own thing but also let you know they are there if you need anything which was perfect for us.

The location was absolutely superb! On arrival, we were welcomed with a handwritten note, some fresh fruit and locally produced chocolate. We had our privacy, however our hosts were easily contactable for any issues/questions.

Beautifully presented premises in a lovely location. The Earth lodge looks to be recently built but definitely has great character and ambience in a tranquil setting. Even though there are other lodges close by on the property it's brilliant planning and design means you are hardly aware. You can tell the owners have taken care and pride when building. Little extras like a welcome present, quality bathroom products, furniture, coffee machine, wood fire, bbq etc have made this stay a trip highlight.

The location was so beautiful and the view was amazing. Loved waking up everyday to sit on the outside area having a cup of tea and looking at the forest and ocean views. The property was clean and cosy. I loved all the lovely art work and craft ornaments in the place.

The floating forest chalet is just a short drive out of Denmark and is a really cool little chalet with lovely forest and inlet views. It is well equipped with everything you need to cook a meal and after enjoying winery lunches we ate in on both nights, even cooking on the BBQ one night. The rain shower was lovely and the spa bath really relaxing after a day at the beach. The kangaroos were friendly and the birdlife abundant. Bed was super comfy and there is no noise at all which is really nice. Pod coffee and T2 teas were a nice touch. Communication was by text and the managers gave us complete privacy

You’re surrounded by forest, all you can hear is nature. Wake up to the kookaburras singing, dancing wrens in the gardens and the kangaroos grazing on the lawns.

A friendly town

The Floating Forest feels likes it’s worlds away, but we’re not much more than a kilometre from beautiful Denmark with its cafes, shops and interesting people. And we are very close to the Shadforth District wine region.

Memorable things to do

You can bush walk, take a wildflower tour or a winery tour, ride a horse or a mountain bike or a wave, soak up the sun on pristine beaches like Greens Pool and Elephant Rocks, snorkel or scuba dive, go whale watching, take the Tree Top Walk in the Valley of the Giants. A short drive to Albany and its fantastic restaurants. Venture a little further to the Porongorups. A great base for a break in your Bibbulmun Track adventure.

  • Is there room to park a boat
    Yes - there is ample space on site. Probably Jarrah Cottage would be best, but Wood and Karri could also work, but in any event there are other locations on site that could work. Regards Damian

  • Are any other chalets available as we have stayed in the wood chalet before and would like to sample some of the the others
    Hi there, we have 5 cabins available,however we are booked out usually 5 weeks in advance so check on availability is usually the best bet.

  • Hi! Unfortunately, we had to cancel our upcoming booking as my partner just got a new job & we can no longer stay on the Monday night (and 2 nights is too short for a trip to Denmark!) We are disappointed but will be be back as we got engaged at Floating Forest last year & visit as often as we can.
