This STUNNING accommodation is in a perfect location to explore the Yarra Valley - close to everything, easy to navigate to-and-from, and right in the heart of it so you can visit wineries, dairies, gardens etc. The grounds around the Villa are immaculate, beautiful and so enjoyable - waking up to such a grand view, and getting to walk around and explore just adds an extra element to this stay that not a lot of other accommodation has. You feel like you've been whisked away to Tuscany, or shrines in Japan. The Villa was also very comfortable, exceptionally clean and the kitchen was very well supplied with everything you need to make a yummy breakfast - getting to select what was supplied for breakfast as well was also a big tick for us. There were also fluffy robes on offer! Sandra & John are exceptional hosts - they live in a house just up the driveway so are available if you need something (like when you lock yourself out.. whoops!)

Good selection of foods on offer for breakfast which we needed to cook on the premises but plenty of choice. Accommodation was very clean and comfortable with a lovely outdoor seating area overlooking beautiful gardens in a quiet area. Would highly recommend.

    Yering Station is about 3Km from us. It is a 4-5 minute drive north on Melba highway. We are number 26 and Yering Station is 38 Melba Highway.

The Gatehouse at Villa Raedward is set in two acres of landscaped garden in the midst of the beautiful Yarra Valley. The Gatehouse itself is away from Villa Raedward. It comprises two fully self-contained suites each with their own carport and patio overlooking the gardens and the Valley. The Melba and Yarra Suites are 4 1/2 Star-rated by Star Ratings Australia and consistently average 9+ guest scores. Guest comfort and convenience are as important to us as they are to our guests. Each suite has a lounge/dining room, a large bedroom with queen bed, fully-equipped kitchen with oven, hob, microwave, dishwasher, fridge, coffee machine, toaster and kettle and all required utensils, crockery and glass ware. The marble bathroom has a double spa overlooking a private internal courtyard garden, a large shower and heated towel rails. Typical breakfast provisions include: pack of bacon, 6 eggs, mushrooms, milk, tomato sauce sachets, preserved fruits, yoghurts, orange and apple juices, loaf of bread, butter, margarine, muffins, ground coffee, a selection of coffee bags, assorted drinking chocolates, biscuits, selection of teas, fresh fruit, cereals, potato chips, and assorted spreads
Sandra and John have traveled extensively over a number of years and carefully noted what they liked and didn't like in each place we stayed. They have included what they liked and avoided the things they didn't like when setting up The Gatehouse. The extensive gardens hold a number of memories of gardens enjoyed on their travels - the pear walk reminiscent of the Tuilleries in Paris, the Four Seasons statuary from Italian gardens, the Japanese-inspired garden, and the Laburnum arbor with its memories of Scottish gardens are examples of this. We feel very proud and privileged to live in the Yarra Valley and enjoy sharing it, and our knowledge of it, with our guests so they can enjoy it too!
While there are more than 90 wineries within a 12 kilometre radius of The Gatehouse, the Yarra Valley has much more to offer than just fine wines. Within a 15 minute drive from The Gatehouse you can: Wander through the seven acres of the spectacular Alowyn Gardens; Enjoy the many delights available at the Yarra Valley Chocolaterie, Enjoy lunch or dinner at over 25 restaurants including three rated one-chef's-hat by The Age Good Food Guide, Sample cheeses from 4 specialist cheese makers and sellers, Taste ciders and ales from six different local brewers, Enjoy tasting different gins at Four Pillars, Play a round of golf at one of five golf courses, Go horse-riding, sky-diving, hot air ballooning, take a flight in a Tiger Moth or helicopter, visit several historic locations and museums, enjoy a picnic amongst the bush or scenery of the Valley and Surrounds, explore the delights of the local villages, or, Simply relax with a massage in your suite and enjoy The Gatehouse and its extensive gardens.
