Numerous communities of kangaroos, wallabies, echidnas and wombats call The Junction home and if you are lucky you might even catch sight of the resident platypus. The Junction is an accredited wildlife sanctuary with Land for Wildlife, part of the NSW Waterways Programme and a conservation partner with the Glossies in the Mist: a project that aims to identify key feeding trees and maps nesting hollows to help secure foraging and breeding habitat for the Glossy Black Cockatoo within the Great Western Wildlife Corridor. A recent audit by the Community Environment Network on just one day found over 34 birdlife species in the protected corridor on the property, including many threatened species and the rare Pallid Cuckoo.Take our picnic basket, billy tea can and Pioneer damper oven (find a damper recipe in the guest information folder at the property and the ingredients in the pantry) and lose yourselves completely!
