We have rare black cockatoos, kingfishers, kookaburras, green rosellas, wrens, finches and a myriad of other Australian native birds that hang out in our trees! Absolutely everyone who visits is reduced to a vocabulary of one word. WOW! Located half way between Sydney and Melbourne, and enroute to Adelaide. This is a superb little hideaway for a stopover or a more relaxing option than staying in the CBD should you be on a business trip, holiday or visiting Wagga to embrace the many things our region has to offer. Less than 6km from the city of Wagga Wagga and just over 5km from Wagga Wagga Airport; our 2ha paradise is something that has to be seen to be believed. Water to the property comes from an aquifer nearby and is filled with "all the good stuff" and none of the additives found in most water supplies these days. It also enables me to keep the property green and luscious year round with carefully programmed irrigation systems. I'm a country girl. Born in Cootamundra and grew up on a farm with my two sisters and two brothers. Dad was one of those forward thinking guys and always allowed the girls in the family to do "farm stuff". I feel blessed to have learned from a master. My mother had the patience of a saint and taught us all the "home stuff" for which I am ever grateful also. I've worked in hospitality for most of my career life and have travelled the world in doing so. The dirty faced little girl from the farm has had some amazing experiences in places she never thought she ever would! It's time to hang up my own suitcase though and open my own doors to those still wishing to leave footprints in precious nooks and crannies around the globe. When I get the opportunity I do occasionally pack my panniers and head off on motorcycle trips! I've been in Patagonia, South America. The Alps in Austria, Switzerland and Italy and one day might get to our very own Tasmania! I hear they have great riding roads! And every now and then I also drive a tractor for some local farmers when they need help at harvest. Life's good. I have three grown children and a grandson - all bring me enormous joy. LOVE!

Gumly Gumly.... place of many frogs! Have I mentioned the birds too? ;) The Treehouse Retreat is about 300m from the Murrumbidgee River. I say "about" because we live in a flood zone and the river occasionally comes to visit! Hence the Treehouse was born.... to keep the canopy out of the water! The river is used for many things aside from irrigation. Fishing, boating or long walks along it's banks. Access to the river is an easy walk from The Treehouse. Originally the little settlement of Gumly Gumly was balloted off for returning soldiers. Small little farms surround me and like the bird life, a myriad of uses for the land. My immediate neighbour grows organic vegetables and would be only too willing to show you his patch and I'm sure sell you some of his delicious produce! Other's breed and train horses, grow lucerne for hay, small holdings of beef cattle and sheep. It's a beautiful community with an eclectic array of activity and personalities. One family move cattle past my property every day. The cattle are so tame they don't take much encouragement to come and say hello! There is ALWAYS something going on that will delight and intrigue! Paradise.
