A lovely quiet spot in Waratah, not far from the Mt Bischoff hotel. Very comfy beds with electric blankets Warms up really quick with the RC heater Looks like it has been recently renovated and is well maintained. Loved the red upholstered armchairs (very stylish!) Great value for money compared to most places.

Great big space, impaccably clean, tidy, kitchen and bathroom well equipped, super comfy bed, great central location, so all in all we have enjoyed our stay here very much. I can highly recommend. We'll definitely stay again next time we're in the area.

Great inland and coastal scenery! Would recommend Tassie as a holiday destination. The highlight was the Wilderness railway trip. Loved Waratah; a very pretty town with lots to see. Thanks to the Post Office staff for suggesting going to Hellyer Gorge; very nice.

Everything was good, can recommend. Full kitchen and laundry. Heating worked well and shower had great pressure and hot water. Remote check in was smooth and communication was efficient.

  • Hi there! May I know if you have WIFI in the property? I saw in your information that free wifi is new, but I don't see it reflected in the listing, so I wanted to clarify. Also, are there any place for dinner in July nearby? Thank you!

  • I would like to book the 17th (if the 16th and 17th are not available) BUT first, i need to see if i can split a 2 night booking in Zeham change it to just the 16th. (Reason: planning on Pieman river cruise, but Zeeham to Corina has a one car ferry impossible to time?)

This property is suitable for people who want to visit Cradle Mountain without the high cost of staying at Cradle Mountain. As a bonus you get to see the historic township of Waratah best known for it's role in saving the economy of Tasmania through the Mount Bischoff tin discovery of 1871. You can also visit the first church lit with electric light in Tasmania, the historic Waratah Post Office. NEW! Free WiFi
I owned and operated the Bischoff Hotel from 2003 to 2015 making me the third longest serving publican since it opened in 1881
