Our guests constantly tell us that they love the peace and quiet here, the well-appointed accommodation ("there is absolutely everything you need - and more") and the beautiful gardens, native trees, fruit trees, rolling lawns and interesting, at times quirky improvements across our two-and-a-half acres ("there's a surprise wherever you walk"). You might see a kookaburra, king parrot or rainbow lorikeet sitting in a tree or splashing in a bird-bath, or an Eastern Water Dragon strutting across the lawn.
We are both retired from full-time work after long and satisfying careers in the public arena. We have lots of grand-kids and we love welcoming families here. We have done everything we can to provide a "home away from home" for our guests - a description that is echoed over and over again in our guests' reviews.
We are less than five minutes drive from the shores of beautiful Lake Macquarie (largest coastal lake in Australia) at Warners Bay, with its village atmosphere and lots of quality restaurants, cafes and takeaways. There is a large shopping centre just a couple of minutes away and we are 20 minutes from the heart of Newcastle. We are also within about 20 minutes of several surfing beaches and just a short drive to a nature reserve - Blackbutt Reserve - with native animals including kangaroos, emus and koalas. Despite being so close to everything, you enter another world when you come onto our driveway - you are a million miles from care.
