Gorgeous, spacious, wonderfully comfortable and spotlessly clean room! Beautiful and thoughtful touches. Private location but very handy to Sydney and Glace Bay. A fabulous experience!
This was our second trip to North Sydney. This trip we used as bookends to our ferry trip to and from Newfoundland. This is a quiet little town, surrounded by incredible beauty. The Black Spoon is a must if you enjoy good food. Friendly people and lots to do. NS would be a good home base for exploring the area.

The principal reason to travel to North Sydney is to take the Newfoundland ferry. As such, there are not really any attractions in the town. For travellers passing through, there are a few accommodations, restaurants and fast food outlets that offer good quality. Access to the Trans-Canada Highway is easy and quick.

We arrived on a Monday and found out there were very limited options for dinner (Chinese or Italian, i.e. pizza). Those choices did not suit us, so we had to drive to Sydney. It was not very far (maybe 20 minute drive), but there were lots of options in Sydney.

I enjoyed sight seeing. My first time to Cape Breton Island.
I enjoyed sight seeing. My first time to Cape Breton Island. It was exciting.
There are not enough options for specific foods. The grocery stores lack selections.
As a person who has Celiac Disease and a Dairy allergy, it is very limited to finding different choices.
It was great that I found a Boston Pizza (shout out to them) they had the gluten free dairy free options I needed.

It is the least charming or beautiful place we visited in all of Cape Breton. But we were there for music event which was great.
***Cape Breton itself is an exceptionally beautiful place so get out of town and experience that beauty. Highly recommend.

Great B and B's close to the Ferry.
Great B and B's close to the Ferry. Loved eating at the Lobster Pound Restaurant (terrific steak too) and the Black Spoon was fantastic worth the wait! Felt safe walking in the town seeing many of the older homes.
Closest hotel to ferry terminal. We arrived on the ferry in the evening and so needed accommodation and a meal before continuing our drive in the morning. Check-in staff were very friendly and helpful. Restaurant was excellent - good range of offering and comfortable, modern decor. Room was comfortable and quiet, with convenient parking close to room.
This was my favourite hotel out of all the hotels we stayed in while on our vacation. The staff was so friendly and although the hotel seemed full every night It was very quiet at night. The location was great. We stayed, drove the Cabot Trail and stayed another night. I will definitely recommend to anyone travelling to Cape Breton.
The staff at front desk was very kind, considerate to my disable moms needs, and was extremely nice. My mother and my sister enjoyed their stay before heading to Newfoundland via ferry next day. I would recommend this hotel to any of my friends. The location to the ferry terminal was an absolute bonus for us.
The motel and restaurant staff were friendly, engaging, and welcoming. The expansive grounds were perfect for playing with our dog! The restaurant serves delicious, old fashioned comfort food. The room was clean and spacious, the beds were comfortable, and the great bed-side reading lamps were perfect!
John and Americo were friendly and helpful. They were very responsive and great to deal with offering many suggestions for restaurants, sights to see, etc. Room was clean. Nice porch and beautiful view of the lake. Overall we enjoyed our stay.
The beds were comfortable.
The breakfasts were fresh, tasty, and made to each person's wants.
Helene and Blair are wonderful hosts.
Located directly on the shore gave great morning views of sunrise over the harbour.
Jane was very accommodating to our late arrival. Our room was very comfortable and breakfast was delicious. At breakfast Jane was helpful in making recommendations about things to see on Cape Breton.
This place is right off the North Sydney ferry and a great place to stop. Proprietor was friendly and breakfast was wonderful. We were very pleased with our accommodations.
The location was breakfast were excellent. It was very close to the Atlantic ferry which was important to me. Also, a restaurant was recommended which was a great choice!
Quiet, comfortable and very clean. The people there are very friendly. An ideal base for a longer stay on the Cape Breton island and daily drives on Cabot Trail.
