Such a cute and quirky boutique hotel. Dan, the owner, is so friendly and a great conversationalist. He makes a mean breakfast too. I was surprised at just how large our room was, with a full sitting area and jacuzzi tub, huge bathroom with a freestanding claw bathtub, and a balcony with a swing seat overlooking the lake. So glad we decided to stay here instead of in Edmunston, just wish it could have been a bit longer. Not many dining options around but found some great pizza just a couple of kms down the road.

This is certainly a unique place. I booked this place as a stopover during our long roadtrip as all other hotels in area were booked. We did not know what to expect but we were pleasantly surprised. Room has screened in balcony with swinging bench that overlooks the lake. The owner is super friendly and interesting. He served up a great breakfast of bacon and eggs with a lot of fresh fruit. Beautiful collection of artwork and antique pieces in the renovated schoolhouse definitely adds to the character. Setting is beautiful right on the lake and in a pretty village. Happy we were diverted here.

We were greeted immediately as we entered. We were brought up to our room without any check in time. The owner made us food even though the kitchen service was closed. WE had travelled and missed any food opportunities(parts of quebec and new brunswick are like that). WE were given a tour of the facilities and it was very interesting. Our room was beyond clean. The view on the balcony was very nice. I loved the swing I could sit on to drink my morning coffee.(which i was given when asked for one in the morning). Breakfast was cooked for us when we went downstairs. It was a traditional bacon and eggs meal. It was served in a old fashioned kitchen that reminded me of being at my grandmothers as a young child. MY son and I were so relaxed we did not rush in the slightest. The whole experience was the best I've ever had at a hotel.

This is a lovingly restored boutique hotel in the heart of the little village perched on a peninsula in Baker Lake. I have driven by on Rte 120 many times; it's my preferred route New Brunswick, off the beaten track and quite scenic. I've often thought to myself, I really should stop and see what's what in that village. Glad I finally did. Dan Caron has lovingly restored the old school that he purchased in the 1990s, after its closure, and created a masterpiece boutique hotel. It's old school -- literally. Delicious breakfast, too. I will definitely stay here again.

Dan the host and owner I think ? He was amazing. From the moment we arrived he treated us with kindness and respect. We got in late as we drove all day long. The hotel is an old school - it has this mysterious feel to it but in a great way. Never once did we feel unsafe,unhappy or unsatisfied. Free breakfast in the morning was with other people and it was like home. Would highly suggest this hotel to anyone.
