Great location-ski in/out. Quiet . Matterhorn views stunning!

When you open the door at the accommodation, you can see the Matterhorn right in front of you. Dinner and breakfast are soso delicious. I'm a photographer, so it was the best for taking pictures, and most of them came skiing, so you can ski down right out the door. The best!!! I'm traveling to 47 countries, and it was a place I'll remember for the rest of my life.

The staff really took care of us really well, from serving us food to moving luggage to finding a lost glove. They were super friendly too and that made Hotel Schwarszee feel like home for us :) The dinner and breakfast were amazing, with a good spread and quality of things. The view of the Matterhorn was also perfect. Even though the toilets were shared, they were very clean and well-equipped with soap and hot water.

Rooms basic but comfortable enough. Common areas including bar and breakfast area, ok, restaurant comfortable with fantastic view, especially at night around late twilight, down onto Zermatt. Dinner ok German style cooking, breakfast adequate, no complaints.

The location is fabulous. If you have the luck to catch clear days, without fog, the fabulous word is nothing. The outside jacuzzi with Matterhorn view is amazing (we catch only a bit from Matterhorn as during our stay we catch only few minutes with low fog, in rest rainy and foggy). But overall was an amazing stay. The staff is very nice and the food delicious.

All the management of this hotel is very nice and hospitable. I really enjoyed staying here and I wish to be a guest here again but the hotel management is requested to take care of more diners like me at dinner even if the rate is increased.

  • How do you get to the hotel? I read its only accessible via a gondola. My train arrives at Zermatt at 15:30 PM.
    Arriving is only possible with the Gondola. Please check the Gondola times, until they run, for your arrival.

    Zermatt is carfree. You have leave the car in Täsch and take the shuttle train to Zermatt.
