SwitzerlandThough this hotel is out of town you get travel passes as part of the deal, the train station is a short walk and the ride into the centre of Lucerne is one stop about 6 minutes. It has a large safe car park. The restaurant is excellent, we had the best meal on our travels through Belgium, Germany, France and Switzerland. It is a little more expensive than similar in the UK, particularly the wine list but we felt it was worth it.

The train at 5 min walk from the hotel, brings you in 10 min to the center of Luzern. Rooms are medium size and clean. The restaurant offers good food, at least to Swiss standards.

MaltaHotel Blumlisalp provided a comfortable stay. Although I arrived a little late and had some difficulty reaching the place. It's situated about 3 Km away from the train and bus stations, and it's uphill all the way! As I was using public transport, that was a real bummer. The breakfast was pretty basic. the room and the bathroom were very clean and the bed was comfortable. The view of the mountains from my balcony were absolutely stunning, and the continuous sound of water from a nearby stream was sweet music to my ears.
