눉inconvenient reception position, unfriendly receptionist, room was terribly small in a triangle shape and was very dirty with something like blood on the floor. Complained many times with answer no room to change, finally with showing the IHG platinum elite membership and negotiated for long time, then to change us a much better room.

눉Staff at the reception didn't speak English which made the check-in process a nightmare. Room service wasn't up to the mark and the breakfast was delivered in the most unprofessional manner. I have stayed in Crowne Plaza in Hong Kong and they were way more professional and service oriented than the one in Nanjing. I wouldn't recommend this hotel.

눉Behind department store, hard to find at the . Pillow case had stains looked like mold. Shower door couldn't be closed tight, bathroom floor got wet and very slippery.

눉The buffet breakfast had a massive choice, however mainly catering for the Chinese. The western choice was very limited. If you are able to have a Chinese style breakfast then you are in for a treat; I can't have rice, noodles etc in the morning. I just had some fried eggs and bread, considering it costs 228RMB it was probably the most expensive fried eggs I have had! Tea and coffee was very bad. I desperately took one sip but no more. This was very disappointing. I would recommend to book a room without the breakfast option, and have breakfast elsewhere. I didn't even bother with the breakfast on the second morning. Luckily there was a Costa on the first floor and a bakery right opposite for the well needed caffeine fix in the morning and lovely pastry from the bakery! This would probably be your best option. The hotel is located above a shopping mall, it was a bit tricky to find the entrance to the hotel as you have to walk around the back through a side road. The soundproofing of the room was not good, as you could hear crying children from surrounding rooms early hours of the morning.
눇The service from the staff is excellent. Initially when I arrived at the hotel I went to the first floor where the concierge was. The person there did not know English, however he went and found a colleague who could speak English right away. At the lobby in the 7th floor all the staff knew very good English. They were very helpful and polite. Check-in was a very pleasant experience. They upgraded our room for free, and offered free welcome drinks. We asked for a non-smoking room, and what we got was a non-smoking floor! The room was of a very good size, it had everything you expect from such a hotel, the room was very clean, and the bed was enormous, soft and very comfortable. First impression was excellent and it stayed like that for the remainder of our 3 day stay. The staff at breakfast were also excellent. Although many staff did not know English, again there was a manager there with good English who approached us to offer his help. Every time I got up to get something he would asked if there was anything else I needed. I can't praise them enough for their attention. The hotel is located at the heart of the city. There are endless shopping malls, restaurants, and the metro station right nearby. It is also very close to many attractions the city offers. The Presidential Palace, Confucius Temple, Zhonghua Gate and the city wall are all within 20 minutes walking distance. The Purple mountain is just a 15 minute metro ride from the hotel. Very convenient to see the city. Overall I would recommend this hotel if you happen to visit Nanjing; it's very clean, staff are excellent and the location is superb!
