Medellin is a great place and one of my favorite places in Colombia. People are very friendly and helpful. Walking round seeing restaurants and bars is always a good sign. They have Uber and when it was a bit further of a walk, I just jumped in one. Lots of things to do. Comuna13 is a must!! Criminal Tacos is amazing places to get some food and BBC Bedega70 sells amazing beers in pint glasses. Sounds trivial but getting a good pint is normally tough.

We are in our 60's and spent 1 week in Medellin.
We are in our 60's and spent 1 week in Medellin. We wanted to practice our Spanish. Intentionally didn't take day trips outside the city. Plenty to do in the city. Way preferred Laureles to El Poblado. Loved the walking tour with Real City(guide Julie was EXCELENTE). Enjoyed the Museo Casa de La Memoria(though most exhibits were in Spanish which became too laborious). Did a walking Zippy tour of Communa 13 which was also very good. Delicious Banh mi at District 1 in Laureles, and GREAT lunch at Hacienda in the city centro. We really enjoyed our stay. Very proud and warm people, the Paisas are, and learning about the history of their city was super interesting to us.

We came to Medellin as the beginning of a month-long exploration of Colombia. A one week Spanish language course was an excellent start, with classes in the morning, and wandering this amazing city, sometimes on organized tours, in the afternoon. We ended up meeting a lovely couple who were official guides, but only spoke Spanish. They provided us with a great tour of El Centro one day, and one for Comuna 13 another day. The food in this city is varied, plentiful, inexpensive compared to other big cities, and excellent! The Metro is unbelievably clean, and felt very safe. Our hotel was well-located, and our room facing onto a patio was nice and quiet, protected from the noise of the Poblado nightlife.

The city has a lot of offer, but don't try to do it all or else you will fail. Definitely do take a Comuna 13 (or Comuna 8) tour that focuses on how the neighborhood transfored. It is very educational. Please don't support anything that has to do with narco-tourism

We came to Medellin only because of Guitape tour which was great. But Medellin is dirty and ugly city. We spent max 1 hour in the city center and returnef to our hotel as it was nothing to see and do their. El Pobladi district we also did not like because of very load music everywhere. It is better to skip this city and spend more time in such anazing cities as Cartagena, Salento, Filandia etc.

We spent 3 days in Medellin and visited the hotel...
We spent 3 days in Medellin and visited the hotel neighbourhood Poblado, did a full day excursion to Penal and Guatape and spent a full day in the old city and Commune 13. The hotel neighbourhood is nice, feels safe and is overloaded with small fancy restaurants and nightclubs. There is not much to see but the atmosphere is good and friendly and the murals are beautiful. From Poblado you can walk to the metro and easily and safely explore the city by metro. The old town with the museums and cathedrals is nice but not very exiting as well, it is mainly a shopping centre and the outskirts are poor and a bit grimm. We did not feel very safe outside this area. We visited the Commune 13 but without a tour and that felt boring; walking in a poor living area. The cable car getting there is fantastic, do not miss out on that. A tour to Guatape and Penal is very rewarding and well organised. We normaly hate tours but since it will cost a lot of time and money extra to go by yourself this is an excellent value for money. We booked at an hostel (not at our own hotel) to be sure of a good price and that the tour would go. Medellin is a big city if you like to go out at night I think this is the place to be. For us 2 days was more than enough.
Worst hotel ever. This is not a 5 star hotel, it is a 2-3 star hotel. I have traveller around the world and around Colombia but I have never seen such a hotel, claiming to be 5 star. the rooms are very basic, the breakfast is the same as in a 2 star motel, the noise from the hotel’s own disco is awful; the staff is rude and do not care about the people staying at the hotel! stay away from this hotel unless you are 18 years old and want to party all night. The price is for a 5 star, but the service is that of a 2 star. worst hotel in Colombia
the hotel is very nice and clean. The building is very well taken cared for, nice tiles, clean elevator, clean room. The most important this was the 2 ladies at the front desk, Sara and the other miss, sorry forgot her name, super friendly and Sara spoke/speaks good English all +++++. The breakfast was a typical Colombian breakfast, eggs with arepa/bread. The WIFI is good and fast. You see that the owner did not spare money to make a cheap hotel, but invested in quality and good stuff.
All in all a very good place to stay..!!
This is the BEST boutique hotel i have stayed in in the whole of Colombia, the location is amazing the staff are amazing and very helpful and friendly , the rooms are done to a high standard and decorated lovely. Everything is perfect and I have stayed twice and will definitely be returning. Walking distance to the main area, very safe and secure. And the breakfast is delicious also. Air con in rooms is brilliant and huge tv with apps and Chanel’s great Wi-Fi also. 10/10! Brilliant
This is by far one of the best hotels I have ever stayed at and I have stayed at scores of hotels all over the world. The hotel receptionists were warm and helpful, the rooms were smart and clean, and the rates are reasonable. There is also a restaurant annexed to the hotel with reasonably priced meals including vegan options. All the aforementioned hotel attributes can only galvanise visitors to return to Colombia
Very pretty place and super friendly, helpful staff. I initially booked this guest house, I arrived in the early afternoon and heard construction sounds near my room. When I asked for a quieter room they offered to relocate to the nearby luum boutique hotel. It was equally nice, friendly and comfortable, and much quieter. Slept very well and one of the best arepas con huevos I had in Colombia :)
Staff was amazing with helpful tips and recommendations. The hotel is centrally located right at the metro so 1 min walk and you are on your way. Located in tolerance zone so know you will see the legal Colombia activities around here but if you stick to your group or not draw attention you will find Excellent bars and restaurants near by.
Wonderful atmosphere to the hotel with authentic Colombian interior. Felt like a breath of fresh air from the bustling nearby El Poblado. The hotel was a 5 min walk from the centre but far enough to be quiet at night.
The breakfast was delicious and the staff were super helpful and friendly.
Overall would highly recommend a stay here.
The best hotel during our 10 day trip in Colombia. Front desk personal is very helpful and speak good English. Thank you very much to John. Comfortable beds, clean, safe, and room has refrigerator. Great pool. We eat several times in restaurant and food was very good as well. I highly recommend restaurant as well.
Los Patios has a reputation that precedes it on the Colombia travel circuit and I was looking forward to checking it out during my visit to Medellin. It offers ample opportunity to join all the main tours, along with some less obvious options.
The staff were friendly and welcoming, always with a smile.
This was the first Colombian hotel I came across where they offered a breakfast buffet and it was great!
The shower had warm water often (that seems to be rare in Colombia)
The personnel was friendly. They allowed me to drop off excess luggage that I was carrying for 2 days before I even checked in.
The best surprise of my trip was meeting the hotels cat Richard Parker ❤️ The sweetest ever! Also the staff were attentive and so sweet all the time, my waiter Sami and Mater were excellent! I will definitely be planning another trip soon! Thank you for your kindness Colombia 🇨🇴
The hotel is located in between Parque el Poblado and Parque Lleras in a quiet street and right in the center of El Poblado. The room was well equiped with a fridge which was convenient. It is a great deal for the price. We enjoyed staying there and can recommend it.
I loved staying here and will stay again on my return trip to Medellín! The hotel is in a very great location in el poblado. There is a pharmacy, delicious restaurant and shopping centers at walking distance. Also they give great breakfast!!
My first time in Medellin and this place was perfect check in was easy and the views from the room were beautiful and the rooftop pool/bar area was amazing overall this was the best hotel I have stayed in between my three trips to Colombia
The hotel is within walking distance (5 minutes) near restaurants and bars. The breakfast is limited but good and offers the Colombian traditional breakfast. The staff is friendly and helpful. The hotel is in a nice and safe neighborhood.
Excellent new place, great staff, clean and quiet and close enough to all the action. The breakfast was wonderful every single morning and it came with the best "hotel-made" coffee I've had in almost 4 years of traveling in Colombia.
The breakfast buffet offers many traditional Colombian food such as arepas, almojabanas, chorizos, calentado, etc but you an also order any breakfast food made to order.
The location cannot be beaten.
The view from the hotel.
The hotel was magnificent. Very sleek, modern, and comfortable. The breakfast that was included was delicious and we enjoyed the way we were served. It was a mix of American and Colombian breakfast options, which I enjoyed.
