Good breakfast hours. The place had amazing location and also the facilities were always very neat and tidy.

Denmarkbeautiful & quiet setting in tropical gardens but close to the restaurants, cafes and shops of Santa Elena. A lovely touch was complimentary tea/coffee and cake in the main lodge every afternoon. There is a lovely terrace/platform where you can look out onto the rain forest and watch birds and the occasional howler monkey.

United KingdomWe felt at one with nature at Cala Lodge - the room was small but perfectly appointed, with huge windows on three aspects that really helped take in our beautiful surroundings. Shower was the hottest and most powerful we had in Costa Rica! Breakfast was great with breathtaking views from the balcony. Staff were super friendly and helpful, and Santa Elena was a short 15 minute walk downhill, with taxis super easy to get back ($4), or a steep but swift hike back if you feel up to it - we did it twice and it was fine! However my personal highlight was the nature trail that runs through the grounds, we spotted coatis, agoutis, mot mots, hummingbirds, capuchin monkeys - and loved finding the unexpected seats, swings and loungers along the way. Completely recommend a stay here.

Located 5 minutes drive from Santa Elena town center, and 4.9 mi from Monteverde, Costa Rica. Cala Lodge is surrounded by nature on a privileged 7.4 acre property that offers trails, reading and rest areas and stunning mountain views.
All rooms have a rustic-style decor and full bathrooms. Some Suites may include a bathtub. The bed linen and towels are included.
Guests will have access to a bird watching deck area, tour desk, minibar in all rooms and beverage sale at the front desk. There is also a sun terrace where guests can relax, read and enjoy.
