CanadaThe breakfast was home made, typical, Costa Rican gallo pinto, huevos revueltos, fried plantain and coffee and it was delicious! The manager, Phoebe, contacted us before we arrived, and was up to greet us, even though we came from a very late flight. She then helped us carry our luggage and made sure we had everything we needed.

IcelandWe stayed in this hotel for 5 nights after arriving at San Jose airport. Communication with the hotel beforehand via WhatsApp was great - they gave us useful tips regarding the airport transfer. Our room was fantastic value, and we were able to choose between two on arrival. We chose one with a mini fridge, which came in useful. The staff were very friendly, helpful and accommodating, providing good suggestions for places to visit nearby and cooking us delicious breakfast every morning. The pool was really nice for a mid-afternoon dip and the shared kitchen was useful for preparing meals and drinks. I think that if you expect a budget hotel then you will be very happy with your stay at Casona del Valle, but you may be a little disappointed if you expect something more.
