The place was very quiet and beautiful. The rooms were spacious and the beds comfortable. The hosts were wonderful. They adjusted to our schedule and made breakfast and diner just for us. A lot of the ingredients came from their garden! We also very much appreciated that they helped us repair a problem with our rental car. We absolutely recommend staying there!

The hospitality provided by the host and family was overwhelming. Drove us around for free, paddled with a boat through a small lake to a deserted sand bank at the ocean for free etc. The Lodge itself is beautiful and is placed in raw nature - if you are very lucky you can see big wild life in the Lodge

This is the place to go if you love nature and are looking to get away from everything. Sabrina and Edu were great hosts, cooked wonderful meals, and Edu shuttled us to Drake Bay numerous times for tours. The location is about 20 minutes by car from Drake Bay. We stocked up on lunch supplies before we got to Drake for the days we didn't have tours, and ate at Encanto Lodge for breakfast and dinner, which was some of the best cooking we had in Costa Rica. We loved kayaking in the lagoon.

Absolutely everything. The hosts Edu and Sabrina were totally amazing. We had the most delicious breakfasts and also ate dinner on 2 occasions. We stayed in the bungalow which had everything we needed plus more and the view was to die for. There is also a boat to take out at your disposal which was so peaceful.

The lodge is extremely beautiful and is located right by the jungle and a pretty lagoon!! The nature is stunningly beautiful and they have a lot activities one can do there. We visited the Corcovado National Park and it was an amazing experience! Other than that Sabrina and her husband are very kind and helped us with everything, it was a pleasure getting to know them. They also cooked for us, the food was very good! Edu fetched us from the boat station and also brought us there again when we left, for free! Thank you so much for everything. We truly recommend staying there if you want to have an amazing experience in the nature!

  • Hello! What’s the easiest and cheapest way to get to your lodge from San José airport?
    Hello. Easiest way: with the plane (SANSA) directly to Drake Bay. Cheapest way: by bus (TRACOPA) to Palmar Norte (and then take a (collective) taxi to Sierpe) or Sierpe and then by boat to Drake Bay.

Encanto Lodge features a unique location where you can find all in one: Jungle, river and beach! Beside a trail in the jungle, our guests can take our kayaks and canoes to reconnect with nature and discover the local wildlife on the river, lagoon and a pristine beach. Encanto Lodge is secluded from the center of Drake Bay and consists of two detached, private Cabañas nestled between garden, jungle and river. The rooms are decorated with wall paintings depicting the local wildlife and with natural materials as white cane or pumpkin tree fruit. Our guests can relax in the hammocks surrounded by nature or choose from a variety of tours that allow them to dive even more into nature and look for special wildlife of interest, e.g. our special Encanto night tour where you can look for the shiny eyes of the crocodiles, a trip to the world famous Corcovado National Park or Diving at Caño Island. Both our cabañas are equipped with a kitchenette. We will also gladly prepare meals for guests that do not wish to cook by themselves. Encanto Lodge offers the free service to pick you up from Drake Bay airport or the boat station and free parking for guests arriving by car (recommended).
Encanto lodge is a family-run business speaking fluently English, Spanish and (Swiss-)German. Edu and Sabrina built it up together. Both love to cook for their guests Edu is a local that grew up at this place. He is a naturalist guide and carpenter, he built everything by himself. Fishing is his passion. Sabrina is a Biologist that moved from Switzerland to Costa Rica in 2009 where she started working in tourism at Rio Drake Farm and later Encanto Lodge. She loves horses since she can remember and has her own horses at Encanto Lodge . Sabrina did all the painting on the buildings , is responsible for the website and the reservations. Together they have two daugthers. Looking forward to meet you soon!

In Drake Bay there is no bank and no ATM. Encanto Lodge does not accept credit cards. Encanto Lodge recommends bringing cash for your.r activities.

The tours to Caño Island (snorkeling and diving) and to Corcovado National Park require a reservation at midday/early afternoon one day before. Please let us know with anticipation if you want to participate in these tours.

Encanto Lodge recommends bringing sun protection, insect repellent, flash light, raincoat and rubber boots (in raining season).

Pets are not accepted. Animal service dogs are allowed.

Transportation service from El Progreso bus station, Drake Bay boat station or Drake Bay airport is free if reserved in advance
