My Casitas are located on a large lot allowing for each to have it's own yard and garden area. You can either have your entire family traveling together stay in all the homes, or have a tranquil private home away from home, and enjoy a peaceful getaway. You have neighbors nearby, all local Ticos, offering an opportunity to immerse yourself in our local culture. Or, you can choose to stay at the house, hang out in our garden while reading a book or playing cards. Because the homes are fully stocked, you have the option of eating out at one of the 6 restaurants within a 3 minute walking distance, or visit the grocery store only 500 mts away, and cook for yourself. However, we do provide a welcome breakfast supply for that first morning, just to make your visit a bit easier and less stressful. We are also more than happy to provide assistance in coordinating all tours/activities you would like to do while in the area; or even elseswhere in Costa Rica at no extra cost. But, the decision is yours to make as we are simply happy to assist you in making your stay, the best possible.

I am from the USA and came here for a 6-month long internship at a local bilingual environmental school, but never left. Here I met my husband and we have been raising our three children and are excited at the opportunity to share this beautiful unique village with you! Whether I am in the mood to stay at home and watch the monkeys in the trees while I wash dishes in my sink, or go out on the porch to observe the avifauna that congregate in my yard, or take a hike on nature trails, or fly across zip-lines, or get a massage after a relaxing class of yoga, I am able to do all of these things while being surrounded by unique, fragile, and beautiful ecosystems. My husband and I would be more than happy to help arrange your entire stay while in Monteverde or anywhere in Costa Rica. He is a naturalist guide with over 25 years of experience and offers personalized morning Natural History Guided tours and Guided Night Walks for our guests. Within a 5-minute walk, you can either go grocery shopping, visit one of two nature reserves, a butterfly garden, 6 different restaurants, a café, use an ATM, or catch the local shuttle bus to visit either downtown Santa Elena to purchase souvenirs or visit a café, or see the village of Monteverde and eat our local ice cream at the local factory, or visit its women's arts and crafts shop. If you prefer, you can walk to either place in 15 minutes. Also, if need be, only 400 meters away, there is a small medical office where you can receive 24-hour emergency medical care and the only place for an emergency helicopter lift, is only 200 meters away. Albeit you are centrally located, you feel as if you are nestled in your own peaceful nook, without a care in the world, as you are sitting in your hammock, on the front porch, while watching the sunset light up the sky with the brilliant colors only found on mother nature´s palette.
