I would have spent 3 days there maximum and spent the other 4 days in Tarrafal, instead. In general I enjoyed my stay there, but Tarrafal it’s a different world, where you can actually feel the culture and be surrounded with beauty. Cidade abelha is also a must and it’s absolutely beautiful. I would have loved to manage to see the typical ceramics, but people don’t talk much and don’t value much (unfortunately). I actually went to Sai Domingos on purpose to see it, but the locals said it was closed.MarlenePortugal - Scored 1010

I loved the sun, the water, the history of the people, the moutains and the rest of the land, the beaches, Tarrafel and the kindness of the people. Its a great place for a vacation if you just want sun and the easy life on the beach or climbing mountain trails if you like. I will return!!arnaudBelgium - Scored 8.08.0

IT was a positive surprise. Cape Verde is a great place to visit. Great sea front restaurants Street Art Nights are filled with fantastic music and rich food. Some great beaches in the outskirts Of Praia. Visited Tarrafal and Assomada and Cidade Velha for its History and beach . « Portondi nos ilha « was also vert interesting place visited. At Cidade velha we stumbled at Batuku ,a restaurant where we had the Best grilled garopa ever. Great funNeto - Scored 8.08.0
Praia is the capital of Cape Verde.
Praia is the capital of Cape Verde. The Santiago island is not the best if you are looking for a great beach experience. There are other islands with easy access that have superb beaches. We did a tour around the island which was interesting visiting Cidade Velha and Tarrafal as well as Sao Vicente. Tarrafal was a nice beach. The two main markets in Praia are a must see, also where you can buy some mementos.

Nice atmosphere, somewhat between Africa & Brasil. Santiago is not a place for beach holidays, but interesting for people, culture, food... Great nature & beaches in driving distance, car needed.

Praia is a small "African" town, where you stroll around and enjoy the moment. There is actually nothing spectacular to see, but as a whole it is quite enjoyable. We walked thru Plato and along the beaches (Quebra Canela and Prainha). The restaurants there are really great: good food and nice view! But prices are higher than one would expect, more European.

Walking distance to the best beach in Praia and some local shops. Best thing about our stay was the Picoteo Tapas Bar that is located on the ground floor basically at the same building - we spent all evenings there! Best staff, best tapas, best cocktails in Praia, an absolute mus visit.

I liked that they gave a bottle of water for guests as we don’t always have time to go and buy some before arriving.
