Charming historic village centre, largely vehicle-free, with an unique collection of preserved stone buildings with characterful wooden balconies. Set in a wooded valley with ready access to excellent trekking and biking trails. Well placed for exploring the Troodos mountains, including the UNESCO listed frescoed churches.

Charming village for a cool night in the hot summer with the sound of flowing water from the river. Very easy to walk around. Parking can be an issue on busy summer weekends. Good food at reasonable prices at the village pub and restaurant

Kakopetria is a mountain village, so everything is within walking distance. However, there's a lot of uphills and downhills - prepare to get tired if you're walking around in order to explore it. On the other hand, it's amazing for hikers, with easy and difficult trails starting from a lot of points in the village. And of course, Kakopetria is located in the middle of the Troodos forest, so it is ... dressed in green, with amazing views and brooks running everywhere in the village! Finally, there is public parking for daily visitors, although it seems pretty limited for the number of people present at any time, and the locals seem to park everywhere!

One of the best traditional villages in Cyprus that I highly recommend to spend a couple of nights should you want to relax.
I highly recommend to stay at Ekali hotel due to its superb location.
An activity I highly suggest is to hike from Ekali hotel up to Old Kakopetria and check out that place. And shall you be able to go for longer distances try and walk up to the next village "Galata" which is clustered with Byzantine churches along the designated route or just follow the main road. Your way back from Galata to Kakopetria is gonna be more challenging as it will be an uphill but it is worth the experience.
Two of my favourite restaurants are Zoppos and Podji Poda. Zoppos is kinda more expensive nowadays but Podji Poda is a cheap place with humongous quantities and it is a great value for your money but as you would expect from such a place there almost certain you will be waiting at the line to have a sit and enjoy your meals.
There are many ATMs and pharmacy stores in case you have forgotten to withdraw money.
Something I would avoid is to forget my sunscreen as the sunlight UVs in Cyprus is very intense and sunscreen is a must have even in mountainous regions.

Absolutely beautiful place to visit.
Absolutely beautiful place to visit. Plenty of places to visit close by. Stunning views and fresh air make you feel revived. Great place to relax. Food was really good and value for money. Trout exceptional! Very traditional with some very interesting buildings. The ducks walk around unconcerned about humans and the cockerel is a character for sure. 100% recommend especially for couples or adult groups. Great for walking enthusiasts.
The hotel is located in a very good place from where you can visit the Old Kakopetria and the Kakopetria down center in less than a 2 minutes walk! I highly recommend this hotel for its location, the view and all the amenities offered. The price is a bargain, a true value for money. Andreas who is the owner is one of the most grateful and clever persons I have ever met in my life and he really cares about his hotel and the good stay of his customers. The owner even upgraded us to a better room without charging more. Breakfast is superb.
The apartment no 3 with view of mountain was absolutely perfect!! You can smell from very first second that it was clean. Small details and touches of the owner made this apartment to feel relaxed and like your home. Many luxuries, we loved fireplace and jacuzzi. We had everything we need and even more. Games so you will not be bored or books. In general very organised, in a good location very quite and near to kakopetria restaurants etc. I would definetely recommend to everyone to share this experience.
My stay at this cute boutique hotel was amazing! The staff were super friendly and always ready to help. The room had a cozy vibe with a big comfy bed and lots of pillows, plus a cool bathtub with bubble bombs. They even gave me free wine to enjoy on a custom table by the tub. The place had a simple and cozy style that I loved. Dinner was delicious, especially the salads and steak. Finally, the hotel is in a nice village which has plenty to do for a fun, rejuvenating retreat!
Everything here. We had a great time in Kakopetria which is the best place in Cyprs. Thank you so much for the hospitality of Demetri and his father Timothy. It really exceed my expectation. And the value we get is much more than we paid and it is uncountable.
The panorama is excellent. Fully equipped. Clean and comfortable. Strongly recommend for family.
The owner stayed up far past the regular check-in to make sure we got in to the hotel and were looked after - the hotel itself is charming, in the heart of old kakopetria. Thick walls and timbered ceilings ensure the rooms stay cool in the heat. The breakfast is typical Cypriot fare, with excellent coffee and cold selection.
Fantastic service! The family leading the hotel made us immediately feel welcome and provided great service. The hotel has a very good location in the Troodos mountains. The design of the hotel is in nice, boho style. Comfortable and spacious rooms, delicious breakfast and dinner. Tasty dinner in the restaurant.
The owner Mr Aris was very hospitable and polite and made us feel very welcome, It was a pleasure to be near the river and was a lovely one day break for myself and my husband ! A big thank you to the Mill Hotel in Kakopetria :) We would definately visit again .
Kakopetria is a beautiful village, and the hotel is located in the center of the old village. The place has so much potential, it's unfortunate they left it to decline. I visited 20 years ago, and it was truly remarkable. What a pity.
A warm, cozy place in the center of old Kakopetria, with jacuzzi and traditional bed. Very welcoming hosts, ready to help with anything needed. During Christmas period was an amazing escape. Close to the nature trails of Kakopetria.
Amazing hotel, old looking but picturesque. The room was huge, with a huge bathroom with jacuzzi. The breakfast was very good. Great location, you can hear the waterfall from the balcony and walking distance to the restaurants.
It was a cosy hotel. The view was super nice and the rooms were comfortable.
The staff wasn't too nice and we had to wait like an hour for them to come to receive us when we arrived, without any apology.
Amazing location, in the heart of old Kakopetria. Traditional rooms that takes you back in time.
Polite and helpful staff.
Highly recommend for a peaceful eacape
The location and the hotel was everything we’d hoped for. Very traditional. The lady who looked after us was very helpful and made us feel
very welcome.
