Larnaca is a working town rather than an out and out tourist resort, although it has all the facilities that tourists need. This means that it is good for out of season visits. It has a great, well planned seafront and nice sandy beaches. The international airport is very close to the centre and is well served by public transport.

With its international airport the city is a good starting...
With its international airport the city is a good starting point for either sightseeing or beach leisure for the entire island. If you rent a car you could visit all the archeological sites that are very interesting or find nice beaches to the west (140-150 km) or to the east (50-60 km). The capital Nicosia is also close at about 45 to the north) and the old town is worth visiting. We found some nice restaurants in Larnaka and generally enjoyed our stay.

Great choice if you want to spend time at the beach and as well in the city. There are many wonderful restaurants, bars, bistros and fast foods as well. In some little shops you can buy what you need. The prices were in March and April tolerable. We were only in the city, from/to the airport we used taxi from Booking Taxi and it was OK.

The view from the Larnaka Castle was amazing and so was St Lanzarus Church amongst other things like the shops and Marina, all within walking distance of Radisson Blu Hotel. Also there is a direct bus number 425 straight from and to the Airport at 2.49 euros each (Radisson Blu Hotel). Intercity coaches can be caught at the Marina, we travelled to Nicosia which was an hour away. I ventured across the border at Ledra Street crossing point with no problem/issue at all. Of course you need your passport. It was easy to get around as choices included walking, hopping on a 425 bus or getting a taxi. Only took the taxi when out late at night on a cautionary side. I had my best dinner at Sawa Restaurant. There was also a Seafood Restaurant, Psarolimano. It is located at the very end of the Promenade and was recommended at the Hotel
