I loved the fact that I had a white christmas😊. It was snowing! The town is beautiful and historic. We visited the Holy Trinity Colomn, the Astronomical Clock, the Arcidiecézni Muzeum and St Wenceslas Cathedral which was all a walking distance from each other and from the hotel.moyo - 10Scored 10
Lovely city centre with numerous historic buildings and...
Lovely city centre with numerous historic buildings and sites. The many different kinds of cobblestones require good footware and do not always provide a safe footing, especially after rain. Be sure to visit as many of the different bakeries and confectioneries as you can and walk off the calories in the surrounding woods and moderate mountains. Also, you will be surprised how many varieties of pickled vegetables can make a tasty add-on any traditional Czech food. As everywhere in Czechia, local beers are manifold and definitely worth a try or five.

Olomouc is my favorite place in the entire world!
Olomouc is my favorite place in the entire world! I lived there for a year and now travel back and forth for work. It is safe, clean and has wonderful public transportation. There are countless restaurants and cafes. Most everyone is friendly. There are bikes to rent, parks to enjoy, nice shopping and historical attractions. I cannot wait to go back! They have great theater and a wonderful train station on an international line. It's just a two hour, enjoyable ride from Prague. Watching football at the stadium is always fun too! Olomouc is the best! Do not stay at Silvie Properties. They do a "bait and switch" scam! You pay for an upgrade and do not receive the quality you pay for, for example, we needed two bedrooms and a washing machine and our apartment rental had neither. Booking.com was very disappointing to deal with refunding us a measly 50EURO for our frustration and inconvenience. Olomouc is a real gem!
Olomouc is a real gem! I thought Prague was beautiful and it still is but Olomouc is Prague without all the tourists and it has a unique flavour all of it's own! The people are really friendly and I didn't spot any tourist traps. Maybe the centre of Prague was once like this........I'm not a native so wouldn't know. If you love churches and monasteries, old cobbled streets, wonderful little bars and cafes. Then this is your place - its also generally cheaper than the capital city, as well as other tourist destinations in the Czech Republic There are some great breweries serving local beer, my favourite one being Hostinský pivovar Moritz. Great little garden terrace, friendly staff and decent food - not to mention the beer. Superb! Everything is within walking distance and if not, the trams, trains and buses are more than sufficient. One of the most beautiful cities of Czech Republic, has plenty of green space, nice restaurants and culture spots. It is also very well connected with other parts of the country - it takes ~ 2 hours to get to Prague and ~ 1 hours to Ostrava and Brno. People are nice as well :)

1, maybe 2 full days is absolutely enough, if you only want to see the city: olomouc doesn't have many sights (mainly a handful of museums, the townhall, 3 big (!) churches and mannnny fountains 😄). the townhall offers visits to the tower (great view) and 1 church (sorry, don't remember the name), also has a tower that can be climed and it has a 'double' spiral stair. most of the sights are free! tip: study the façades carefully, they have interesting objects 'coming out of them' 😄 if you want to make excursions in the surrounding area, you'll need more time. people are quite friendly, knowing some czeck helps (but i guess that's always the case 😉). people in whealchairs, with cains or prams/strollers beware: the cobblestones in the old town are difficult to manage!

Well equiped kitchen, huge bed and nice bathroom gives portion of independence and provide the "like at home" feeling that you might prefer than rather rely on a hotel service. Shopping mall is 15 minute stroll from the spot. Place surrounded by not so ugly block area. Coffee place is just the other side of the street, Czech Pub located 2-3 minutes from the apartment. Parking place is inside the building, so extra safe.

It is a short walk to the main square of Olomouc from the hotel. The rooms were quite large and clean and the bed was very comfortable. We had rooms at the rear so there was very little noise.
