Unicorn accommodation was truly magical! One of the best accommodations I have ever been to, and I can tell you…I’ve been to many.
We never met the host in person, as the check-in is contact-less, but they sure took care we were fully comfortable by being all welcoming and responsive via text messages and just by the apartment set up itself. The place can host three people on beds and two can fit comfortably on a couch. In such case a full house is a total bargain for you. If you are a smaller group, it’s worth it too. We were a couple with a mother-in-law who could sleep in the extra bedroom, so the place was just right.
Aside from the one-person bedroom, you’ll find a huge living area/kitchen/master bedroom and then when you want to sit outside, there’s a big cozy area, that gives you a romantic cave-like feel, where you can have a bbq or just sit and watch the trains across the river pass by. Don’t worry, even though the place is right next to a road, a river and a train track, the windows have good isolation, so you won’t get disturbed by any noise.
You can see the host has a good sense of design and traveled to many hotels, as they picked the best items you might appreciate during your stay. It’s the details that make a difference. Just to name a few: a bottle of Prosecco, a bowl of apples, some kitchen or bbq ingredients. We could tell it was all new. My personal favorite were the candles and plants, that were EVERYWHERE! They even had an essential oil difuser. And those extra items they added in the bathroom…, omg! Oh and I also appreciated the high standard electronics: like the big-ass TV, the massage shower or high quality hair fan in the bathroom. The description said there will be no wifi, but there actually was wifi too!

That corner of Czechia has been described as the lowest point of the country in elevation, and also in taste. There are numerous shops, all run by Vietnamese, selling the same unbranded shirts, shoes, etc. Anything that was branded was of dubious authenticity. I was caught out a few times as credit cards are generally unknown and ATM's will charge CZK195 (!) per cash transaction. Don't expect a convenience store selling day-to-day items, as the shops I visited focussed mainly on bottled drinks, alcohol and cigarettes. However, the location is simply amazing.

The landscape is truly unique in this part of Europe. Despite some trails being closed because of recent forest fires, there was still plenty hiking. I can't remember my last trip when I went "wow!" multiple times a day. Four days is definitely not enough to take in the sheer beauty of this location. We were there in october and the autumn landscapes felt like living in a painting, superb!

The village itself is rather bleak (many closed hotels and restaurants make it so), but then I did not expect it to be the main point of my stay. It's the Bohemian Switzerland National Park that counts and Hřensko (especially the Mezní Louka part where I stayed) is a very convenient base for a walker like myself.AdamPoland - 10Scored 10

Bring your walking/hiking shoes and check the park schedule. We were here on closing weekend so it was very busy but we had a great time. We are not in great shale, the hike took us longer than the younger and more fit hikers but the scenery was beautiful and worth the sore legs the next day.

Excellent distinction for those adventurous. The autumn season is just beautiful up in the national park. Unfortunately it was misty and rainy the day we were there. We got to do the boat ride and saw the arch. But the fog limited the iconic images of the arch. Did not get to see anything else on our list. Hřensko is a small village, very easy to get around.
Hřensko is a small village, very easy to get around. Although there are many options to eat, thez all serve the same type of cuisine - mostly unhealthy food (svickova, gulas, dumplings); there are very few vegetarian and basically none vegan options for a decent meal. You will get a nice fish at Ceska hospoda and Restaurant U Lipy. Hrensko is set in a beautiful scenery of the river, rocks and forests, but what disturbes the atmosphere and the genius loci are the cheap clothes/trinkets/tasteless music stands and shops everywhere, focused to cater mainly the German clientelle. The town would do itself a favour if it would rebrand itself and offer some quality traditional Czech or local products/crafts.LucieCzech Republic

Stayed with my family there for 7 days. Breakfast was very good. Also had dinner 3 times there, and the food was excellent and the portions were large. The rooms were always clean. Wall thickness was OK - didn't hear much from the neighbors. I liked that the bathroom had a proper bathtub - the must after a longer hike! The room was fantastic. There was everything you need inside and the small refreshments including a bottle of sparkling wine were the cherry on the cake when we opened the door to our room. The rooms are very quiet and and recently renovated. The owner, Maxim and Tereza, were extremely welcoming and courteous. Overall, we fell in love with this place and will definitely try to come back soon!

Tip: do the 6,5 km walk to Pravčická brána from this town, not from Hrensko. The walk is longer, but only the last 2km are hard. (When you start in Hrensko, the way is only up). Jan is a very friendly host and when you send him a message, he answers almost directly! The place is very reccomended! Nice garden and everything you need is in the house.
