Compact old town centre (mostly reconstructed) with not much to see for tourists. Beethoven’s house was worth the visit though, we also enjoyed the Macke exhibition at the Art Museum. There were few decent restaurants around the town, we found an Italian, “Italiani” that served a good pizza. Lots of snacky places or SE Asian type food places. Seems to cater more for students. For us it was just an overnight staging post on a long journey, I couldn’t recommend staying there for any length of time (and if you do, give the hotel Lohndorf a miss…!).

I visit several times per year for work and it is always beautiful. I always see new parts of the city and it is always beautiful. IMO it is a great city and the public transportation makes it easy to get around without a car.

Much smaller than its close neighbour, Cologne, Bonn does not get behind in terms of its great history, multicultural feeling, amazing food and drink options, excellent variety and efficiency of public transportation system, excellent facilites for pedestrians and cyclers and vibrancy of overall urban life, even late at night. And it really gets forward in terms of great historic architecture, public spaces, safeness and costs. I really enjoyed the experience, even for a work trip, I just loved wandering around the historic center, the Rhine front, the central train station and all the way south to the World Conference Center and west to the Alter Friedhof. All I saw, lived, ate and bought was met with nice people, great spots for taking pictures and amazing experiences. Would have loved to stay longer, to visit its many museums.

A smaller, but vibrant and multicultural city, with an amazing assortment of attractions (of which visited few, due to a very tight time and budget, due to attending a congress in the city) and the best and most convenient public transportation system that I have seen. The historic center is amazingly beautiful, clean and ordered, the Rhine border is beautiful and if you love Beethoven or are interested about Post-War Germany, this is the place to be. Lastly, I come from a place where cities are deserted at night, so going to a place where people are just, safely, enjoying in the streets, eating out or clubbing was a really nice experience to live, as an urban planner.

From the little that I saw, the city is ok.
From the little that I saw, the city is ok. Lots of visible homelessness and drunkenness in the public open spaces though. As a lone female traveller this affected how safe I felt. It is not a city I would visit for a vacation. For business purposes it is ok.
Nice little hotel with friendly check-in staff at reception. We were allowed to check-in slightly earlier than the allocated time which was a bonus as it meant we could spend more time in the centre of Bonn. Room was downstairs and initially seemed a little stuffy but we left the windows open all night and it turned out to be nice and cool. Shame that no tea/coffee facilities were available in the room. Beds comfortable. Shower nice and powerful. Good parking available too for our motorcycles.
The hotel is well located in Bonn, close to main bus links and not far from the train station! The staff were wonderful, and have been so helpful. Apart from sharing a toilet with other guests, which was expected for the affordable price of a night, I really enjoyed my stay. There are individual showers in each room, I was worried about having to share one with other guests but this was no issue! A pleasant stay, I really recommend if you are on a budget, you get more than what you pay for!
The room and the bathroom are modern. The online staff was prompt and helpful.
The hallway entrance is very cozy to spend time and relax, good also that there are lockers.
The hotel is at the main street, close to a bus station that takes you to the railway station.
There are restaurants and shops around.
Wi-fi was good.
You can find parking on the street around.
I liked that there were complimentary drinks and chips in the room, including tea and coffee.
The room also had a safe.
Stayed in Bonn to go to the Anuga show, in Cologne (Cologne is just impossible during the Anuga). The Collegium Leonium is a residence for older people with an area working as hotel It's obviously very quiet, rooms are confortable (also the social areas,( although I spent almost no time there). What was important for me was to be close to the train station and it's just a short walk away - very convenient. It's also not far away from the city centre or the river.
Hotel Löhndorf is a little gem in the centre of Bonn. The location is very central but also quiet at night. The hotel has recently been renovated to a high standard. There is an underground public parking garage very near the hotel, so no problem carrying one's luggage.
The owners are extremely friendly and helpful and they provide a varied and excellent breakfast. There is a terrace for the warmer months.
We fully recommend this hotel.
We stayed here only for one night but it was a perfect getaway. You are directly in the center of Bonn but the rooms are quiet, cozy and comfortable. The staff is also friendly and helpful. The bar below the hotel offers a great range of beer. Even if you want to visit Cologne, too you are in a close distance to the train station. It is the perfect Hotel for enjoying both: Bonn and Cologne!
The host is very accommodating. They provide free breakfast. The room is very spacious compared to other places in NRW. Good value for money. The internet is good. There are many facilities around. Payment is cash. The neighborhood is not busy like downtown. And if you are from the Middle East/Asia, the toilets here have bidets (shattafa) :D which is rare in Germany.
Enjoyable breakfast buffet with varied food of excellent quality, good coffee and freshly squeezed orange juice. Comfortable and clean room. Friendly and helpful multi-lingual staff. Hotel located close to restaurants and bars, in a lively part of Bonn next to the botanic garden, 20 min walk from Bonn city center and 25 min walk from UN Campus.
The three-person room in the hotel has two rooms. Although there are only two people living there, the experience is very good. Especially after check-out, I helped to mail the missing items to Germany. I was very touched. I will go here next time on a business trip.
Very convenient location just opposite the station, close to a variety of shops and restaurants. Friendly staff. Small gym which opens early (at 6) which I had to myself. Kettle in the room which is quite rare in Germany.
