Perfect location near Altstadt and train station. Charming older building on a quiet side street with comfortable rooms (we had a lovely balcony!) and good breakfast in cozy dining area. Beds were very comfortable. Walkable for sightseeing in the old city.

Situated in a peaceful side street just a 3 minute walk from the train station, this charming, privately run 3-star hotel offers cozy accommodations in the heart of Freiburg. Hotel Barbara is a short walk from all of Freiburg's main historic and cultural attractions, such as the cathedral, university, theater and concert house, shops and restaurants. Built in 1911, all rooms in Hotel Barbara have recently been renovated and feature a private bathroom, cable TV, telephone, minibar and free Wi-Fi internet access. Most of the rooms also offer a balcony. Enjoy a complimentary breakfast buffet in the attractive breakfast room with conservatory. The central location provides excellent access to public transportation services taking guests to all parts of Freiburg, including the convention center (a mile) and soccer stadium (2.5 miles). Situated close to highway A5, the Hotel Barbara is an ideal base for day trips to explore the nearby Black Forest, the Markgräflerland vineyard region or the Alsace region in neighboring France.
