It was a short walk to the lake and to City Hall. There was a very nice German-style restaurant a few doors away. You may catch the Hop on Hop off bus right in front.

Our stay was thoroughly pleasant. The hospitality at Hotel Baseler Hof was great! Staff was professional on all fronts: from answering questions before our arrival, to an earlier check in during a holiday party and handling our late night delivery orders with ease. Throughout our visit we received consistently good housekeeping. Aesthetically it's cozy and full of pockets to learn interesting the hotel's building history and the generational stories which make this place so great. Highly suggest to visit if you enjoy a low key experience with a fabulous sauna!

The hotel was located just off the U1. There is a Hofbrauhaus Bavarian restaurant next door. The city's famous lake is just a few meters away, with a large shopping district just a 5-10 minute walk away. Many places to eat, drink, have coffee, some great German bread, or just people watch. The staff impressed me with their knowledge, professionalism, language skills and just their desire to assist travelers. Nice shower with great water pressure. Comfortable bed.
