Founded by the Romans in 38 BC and idyllically located on the Rhine River, Cologne offers the perfect blend of historical and modern Germany. There’s no place more picturesque to drink a Kolsch beer and eat a schnitzel than on the banks of the River Rhine. Here you’ll find the Altstad, or Old Town, with the impressive Cologne Dom on the skyline.
Visitors to Cologne in November can dance the days away at the Carnival Parade. In December, no trip to Cologne’s magical Christmas markets is complete without a steaming mug of Gluhwein.
The charm extends to other seasons as well, thanks to the medieval wonders of the Cologne Cathedral and the Twelve Romanesque churches. Learn about the city’s history at the Roman-Germanic Museum or take a postmodern approach at Museum Ludwig. Whether historic or culinary, a trip to the Chocolate Museum can complete any tour.

The cathedral, shopping in the old town, good drinks and food all in one place. Strolling by the river is very nice, especially if the weather is nice. The train station and the airport are very close and transportation is very convenient.

Boring dull city with A LOT of homeless and beggars everywhere. Sleeping under bridges and shopping streets. When I visited this city, there was allways some demonstration with everywhere police. NEVER again. The next day trip to Dusseldorf was a relief !! What a nice place just 35 minute drive from Köln.

Architecture-wise the city was chaotic and unappealing, definitely standing out from other German cities in a bad way - although there were a number of great buildings, they were located so haphazardly, that the views were entirely spoilt. The Carnival was a far cry from other cheerful street festivals - the idea of a good cheer for Koelners included indecent exposure, being drunk to the point of crawling, puking and other bodily functions out in the open (including people peeing on churches or tram stations) all before noon. Definitely the worst German city I ever visited.

Have only been there in winter, but would very much like to be there in summer. Nice town with a wonderful church. Many old buildings and shopping streets. Cozy cafes. A trip to Cologne is recommended
We had 3 great nights in this hotel; it has character, in a top location (very close to a metro stop) and in a lively neighbourhood with a supermarket next door and many restaurants in the area, just walking distance away, which is really nice after a long day of exploring the city centre. The breakfast was good, with a variety of options to choose from. Vegan options too, which we apreciated. Cologne is very vegan friendly anyway, almost all restaurants had many vegan options.
Excellent location close to station. Room was comfortable. Small hotel where staff were very friendly. Breakfast was a very good selection of fresh bread, cheeses, meats etc. We would come back when in Cologne. There is a bakery close by and the old town and key sights are walkable. We used the 9 euro deutsche bahn pass for July to get across the city (and used to get around using local trains in other parts of Germany) to a meal at Pottkind which we can also recommend.
Great hotel if you want to stay overnight before your flight from Cologne-Bonn Airport (CGN). Hotel is very near to the S-Bahn (Train) station (Frankfurter Str.) and it takes ca. 5 mins by walk from S-Bahn station to hotel. From S-Bahn station Frankfurter Str., it takes 8 minutes (just 1 stop) to the CGN airport. Rooms and bathrooms were clean. Check-in was unproblematic and fast. Even though the rooms were small, they had all the required basic amenities.
Park Inn by Radisson Köln City West is a business-style hotel located just outside the city center and across the street from Cologne's central park. Two blocks away is a tram stop that will take you to the city center and beyond. The rooms are comfortable, clean and modern with good Wi-Fi. Overall, a nice option if you're seeking a business-style hotel near Cologne's central business district.
Centro Hotel Royal said "we will not be officially running the houses as a hotel in 2024 and will therefore not be available. We will therefore rebook you to the partner Hotel Boutique 003 in Cologne". So we stayes at Boutique 003. The location of the hotel was excellent. The size and cleanliness of the room were above my expectations. Everything was fine.
Decent pillows, which seems to be a rarity in Germany! Really appreciated the AC because it was very hot and muggy in Cologne. Reception staff very friendly and spoke excellent English, which was useful because whilst my halting attempts in German would have got us there eventually, English was much more efficient.
We had the free orange juice and some coffee one the morning. Even though we had a checkout, we could always stock the luggage in the hotel and came back to the hall to have some water. The room is so clean and really soundproof. I recommend it. And it’s just 5mins walk from the Cologne Cathedral.
Close to the airport. If You are arriving to Cologne late or You have an early flight, Moxy is best option. Hotel is connected to town center (4 stations) and KoelnMesse fair (3 stations) with S19 train with station across the hotel. You don't need a taxi. 24h front desk (on 5th floor).
Location was IDEAL for being close to the train station, restaurants and some of the best Christmas markets in Germany. You can see the cathedral from your window! After hours check-in was seamless and the rooms were very comfortable and warm (especially when it was freezing outside).
The location could not be better. It had one of the best breakfasts is with fresh fruit and not overcrowded at all. At least one we stayed. Staff was extremely friendly. I have stayed in this hotel several times and always return if I’m going to be in Cologne.
Hotel is well maintained, spacious room with king size bed. Helpful and friendly staff. Great location, close to main train station and city centre and a big supermarket just across the street. We will stay here again the next time we visit Cologne.
The location of the hotel was perfect, with the river, city centre and cathedral all within a short walk. One of the rooms had a view over the river. If you're looking for somewhere affordable to stay in Cologne then this is definitely worth a look.
Everything was perfect. The location of the hotel is ideal for the Anuga Expo within 10 10-minute walk, and it is close to the city centre and Cologne Cathedral.
Breakfast and service were excellent. Thanks to Sadiqa for making us feel at home.
The rooms were excellent, very comfortabel with very goods beds. The breakfast was luxerious and the hotel is located in the city centre of Cologne. The hotel has an own car park, but on a very short walking distance is also a public car park.
The location was fantastic! We went to Cologne to visit the Christmas Markets, the location of the hotel was perfect for this. We were within a five minute walk to the two largest and in our opinion best Christmas Markets.
The location of this hotel is just a couple of minutes' walk from the Cologne/Bonn Terminal 1. It met all our needs and was clean and pleasant. The restaurant offers nice meals. We would definitely stay here again.
we liked this hotel, good location, within walking distance of the railway station, as well as metro stations, nearby is the cathedral, the main attraction of Cologne, cozy room, friendly people at the reception
