The capital of Lower Saxony, beautiful Hanover has been so thoughtfully planned that you can’t tell it was largely destroyed in World War II. The city is full of green spaces, one of which is by huge Maschsee lake where sailors and rowers share the waters with pedaloes. In winter you may be able to skate there. A smaller lake in the Maschpark closer to the centre reflects the grand New Town Hall overlooking it.
The Old Town Hall is in the Old Town where half-timbered buildings were brought from all areas of the city during rebuilding. The square behind hosts one of the Hanover Christmas markets. The others are on Kröpcke pedestrian shopping street, and in front of the station, where the city’s main shopping centre - Ernst August Gallerie – is located.
To the north are the incredible, landscaped Herrenhausen Gardens – awash with colour for much of the year. This area gives its name to the local pilsener – Herrenhäuser. Also here are colourful sculptures by Niki de Saint Phalle, whose work is also displayed in the Sprengel modern art museum.
Set in an Expo City and host of many festivals, the accommodation in Hanover can get booked up quickly, so choose yours on Booking.com soon after booking your flight to Hanover Airport.

If Hannover turly is, as is often heard, the most boring city in Germany, it makes me want to explore more of what Germany has to offer. I mean, how nice must all the other cities be if they find Hannover boring, as it is not boring at all.
Like many larger German cities Hannover was bombed and mostly destroyed in the war and has been rebuilt. If you want to see original pre-war Germany, then you can take an easy day-trip to Celle which has been voted as the most beautiful German small town. Also the famous Hameln is an easily doable day-trip.

I saw police horses walking around.
I saw police horses walking around. It was very nice to see calm horses helping city in peace. Some very nice person in Hannover teached me that one of the reason why the police use horses in Hannover is that the place was famous with certain kind of horse breeding, moreover, they use horses to calm down the hooligans. Even the hooligans never hurt horses as they know the horses are not harmful to humans. How beautiful is it to see the humans and the animals benefit each other in peace! How beautiful Hannover is it to see!

Hannover is a great city and seems to be totally underrated. We love the Lister Meile, also the Eilenriede (large city forest). Bathing lakes around Hanover. We especially enjoy the festivals in the Barock gardens (Herrenhäuser Gärten). The zoo is amazing (best we ever visited). Lots of nice restaurants, beer gardens etc. Great museums, concerts, shows, festivals (Maschseefest) etc. I highly recommend to check out this amazing city.

I have stayed in Hannover many times and enjoyed it.
I have stayed in Hannover many times and enjoyed it. This was the first time I booked through this company and will never use them again. Way overpriced. Everyone I told about it said that price was way too much. Grat City to walk around. Lots of historic city. Trains are great. DB very helpful
This must have been the cleanest hotel room I have been in a long time. Really spotless. Very comfortable bed and pillow, spacious room, good prices on the mini-bar and a coffee machine with 3 types of capsules for free usage! Quiet area just opposite of a tram station a few stops away from the central station of Hannover. The ladies at the reception very polite, they allowed me to check in 30 minutes earlier.
Friendly staff both at reception desk and restaurant. Nice and clean room. The layout of the room is well organized. The Wi-Fi signal is good and strong enough. The restaurant serves a rich breakfast; a dinner a la carte can be enjoyed in a relaxed atmosphere.
The hotel provides also a shuttle bus to the Hannover Airport; however, you really do not need it - the airport is less than a 10-minute walk away.
We ran the Hannover half marathon and stayed at the Mercure Hotel City. Basically just a stones throw from the start of the run.
The room was spacious, the beds firm, the shower as you would wish it.
Really friendly staff, despite the stress of an event weekend. And a wonderful bonus of a late checkout.
I can really recommend this hotel.
All colleagues were very friendly. The front manager, Amelie Schnalke was extremely helpful and nice. The hotel is so clean and the food is good. It has the best location too; 2 minutes walk from the train station. By far, as a frequent traveller, the best hotel staff I have ever met.
flexibility in arrival time, close to Hannover Hbf, yet safe surrounding, very attentive/nice and reliable staff, functional rooms very good for work travellers. There are some stressful working periods where I am truly glad that I can rely on these advantages of this hotel.
The hotel is near the main train station in Hanover (around 6 to minutes walk). The staff was great. There is a lift going to the upper floors. Wifi is also fast and reliable. The hotel was generally clean and the heater works really.
I came to Hannover by Flixbus and hotel was just few steps from bus station. Beds are comfortable, room was superclean, staff was welcoming, central train station was few minutes walk from hotel. I suggest you to stay here next time.
The reception was friendly and the WiFi was excellent. The location is close to the university and a lively street with cafés and restaurants. It's the cheapest hotel in that area. Parking spaces are available, even on the street.
friendly and helpful staff. nice location and amazing breakfast (definitely a recommendation). nearby a metro, so easy accessible if you know how to travel with train or bus in germany.
The hotel’s location and proximity to the Hannover train station is a big plus. Breakfast was great. Room was very comfortable and very clean. It was a very nice and smooth stay.
BREAKFAST WAS NICE, PERSONAL WAS HELPING, RECEPTION DESK PPL NOT ALWAYS DOES OR WANT TO SPEAK ENGLISH, THAT WAS BIT SURPRISING BY THE FACT WE ARE IN GERMANY..
