I am being picky but you need more than 1 pillow on the double beds.
My room had a full height door / window that opened with only a waste height glass panel to stop you falling 5 floors. Ok for me but i would not want children to stay in a room like that.

I am a local, actually. Living abroad reminds me every time how beautiful my city is and how much it has to offer! It's a shame that it is just a "pass through" for many travellers instead of (one of) their main destination/s. On the other hand, it therefore is still very authentic with it's german-franco vibe and also affordable as, so far, there is no mass tourism. I'd rather keep it that way!! 😀

Saarbrucken is a decent city with some interesting historical areas. The Franco-German Friendship Garden on the edge of the city is a fantastic park. Saarbrucken is an excellent base for visiting Saarland, with excellent integrated public transport. The Saarschleife (Saar bend) is a particular highlight of Saarland with fantastic views from a treetop walkway and excellent walks: easily accessible by train and bus. We also visited Merzig and the Garten der Sinne, which was great. Trier is also not too far enough, with fantastic Roman history.

Many things to do within the city and in the nearby countryside. The Saar loop is phenomenal with great views and the castle with restaurant on the island that the 180 degree bend has a delicious menu.

much larger town than I expected (don't know what I was expecting to be honest ) lots of eateries overlooking the river or go in to town which is very busy, nice shopping mall next to the station. Some of the terrace restaurants offer great food at really good prices , just check the reviews to find the one you want. Everywhere is easy to walk to and we had great weather.

I am not able to judge this city as I would like to because we only stayed one night en route to our destination. During our stay, we also noticed a lot of building work going on, but it seemed pleasant enough. The receptionist recommended a good Mexican restaurant called El Sombrero, which is less than 1 km away from the hotel. It is definitely a good strategic starting point for many nearby attractions.
The hotel initially provided what was to be expected; a bed. The room was not very clean and the food was rather mediocre (and ridiculously overpriced). A cheap hotel close to the train station.
Sadly, some of the staff (not all mind you) was extremely rude and impertinent. They behaved like I was bothering them for asking questions about my booking and staying in their hotel.
To be honest, nothing recommendable. There are a few other cheap hotels just next to the hotel. I would suggest one tries these ones and avoid the Mercure Hotel.
In contrast to many of the other hotels I saw listed for Saarbrücken, the location is very central, but parking is (as other reviewers have noted) less than ideal, and all the one-way streets, cul-de-sacs and on-street parking make finding a parking spot... difficult.
The room itself was clean and comfortable. Nothing fancy, but not too spartan. Another reviewer mentioned hearing bells from the church across the street, but they didn't ring while I was there.
The location of the hotel is very nice -- close to Johanneskirche and close to the train station. The staff was very courteous and helpful and agreed to keep my luggage for a few hours after checkout. The room was comfortable and the facilities were very good. The weather was slightly on the warmer side, but I guess in this part of Germany (Saarbrucken), it's not usual to have fans or air conditioners in the room (there was of course a room heater).
Nice hotel ,clean modern ,friendly staff decent sized room beds comfortable and nicely fitted out bathroom with decent shampoo and shower gel in. Car park is large enough we had 2 motorbikes and although parking is out front of hotel bikes were adjacent hotel reception, however we felt they were OK their. Breakfast is good continental style. City centre is approx 8 to 10 minute walk nice place just a overnight stay for us ,excellent.
Breakfast was excellent, people were very friendly. The Hotel is only 5-10 min away from the city center by foot, and only 3 min by electric roller. Our room was a cheap one, clean, basic, for the money it was okay. We really loved to stay in the hotel, our original booking was for 5 nights, but we extended it with 2 nights with the help of the staff.
Everything was absolutely amazing. The apartment looks exactly like the pictures. It was clean, quiet and private. Very central location. A lot of facilities such as a minibar were at our disposal. Amazing stay, will definitely come back when visiting Saarbrücken.
The hotel looks very modern, room was big and functional. Everything was very clean and fresh. Given the price it definitely exceeded my expectations, the staff was very friendly and nice. Location is good and big parking is available very cheap.
The hotel is well located. The renovated rooms are beautiful and equipped with every comfort. The bed is comfortable and big. The breakfast was extensive and varied. The staff is very friendly. A hotel we will definitely go back to!
Good self Check in concept,
Nice apartment with everything you would need,
Central of Saarbrücken, Parking prices are still okay, two separate beds in distance, instant WhatsApp service, spontaneous booking compatible, affordable
I have stayed at thiis property many times. Centrally located tot he Saarbrucken walkplatz area, with many restaurants, bars and shopping nearby. The hotel is nice appointed with amenities, easy checkin with the key box.
It's an old hotel that would need some renovations and fixer-uppers here and there, but it's clean, the beds are comfortable and the rooms are rather big. Nice receptionists.
If you want a hotel for 1 night while in transit, this Mercure is perfectly located, very close to motorway. A rock-bottom quality is here and the price was very friendly.
