Location is good - walking distance between Merzig and Mettlach for ramblers. Also a fine midway stop between the Channel and southern Germany. Staff are great - manageress Manu was a star in trying to arrange a local fix for a motorist with a chipped windscreeen - she took photos, contacted local Carglass, got us advice to continue journey as local Carglass could not replace front screen for 3 days.SmithUnited Kingdom

The food in the restaurant was also really good, as was the breakfast. We booked on the same day as our arrival and the hotel was very accommodating. A kettle was brought to our room upon request and there was plenty of room to put a baby travel cot up.

This may be adequate accommodation for hikers on a budget but it is far too highly priced.
