Beautiful property just outside of town. Gengenback is a hidden secret. What a pretty location and town. I chose to be close to Strasbourg but turned out one of our best stays!! Great value.

Hotel room is spacious and clean, good air conditioning working well especially needed during the hot days in this summer period. Hotel has a good location near the expressway but not hearing the noises. Yet is within walking distance to the old town with character. A lot of good choices for local food and ice cream. Excellent buffet breakfast at the hotel with good ambience whether seated inside or on the terrace.

Gengenbach is a beautiful city. The hotel is a good combination of a city hotel and a traditional dining of the black forest. The coordination for the usage of the wellness area was well done to comply with the COVID-19 regulations.

Overall the stay was really pleasant, short walk from the town and ideal for exploring the Black Forest. The staff were very accommodating particularly the younger male waiter who was very nice to us! The rooms were a bit dated but comfortable beds, nice bath and balcony. The food in the restaurant was tasty except the breakfast in the morning was badly managed, especially during corona times. People were queuing to get a table and 2 mornings our table wasn't set and we got no cutlery to eat with. The sauna and pool were lovely but need to book in advance.
