Not for anyone seeking a bit of excitement. We rented kayaks and that was a lot of fun, prices are high for most everything and many of the locals seemed to be super stressed out by the tourists. They have an odd sense of humor there that not everyone will appreciate. The nearby Tropical Island Resort was great, specially if you have kids. The massivness of the building alone was very impressive the facilities were well thought out and well cared for.

Both my friend and I had a magical experience at the Schloss. The location was breath taking. The top floor room had a beautiful view of the gardens. The breakfast had great variety and the dinner at the hotel was a very romantic, fine dining experience for us. In all cases the staff was super friendly, and accommodating. 10/10 would come here again.

The most authentic and tranquil place that I have been to in Germany. Friendly people, gorgeous canals and cycling or walking from village to village on pristine paths. Relaxation, great food and a festive (but not excessive) vibe. Definitely will be back!

The city is boring.
The city is boring.
And if you also come for the weekend, then the only available entertainment is
kayaking and canoeing will be heavily loaded.
Sometimes there were no kayaks/canoes available due to the influx of people.
Hiking and cycling trails do not deserve

Lübbenau is one of the best places to stay in the Spreewald!
Lübbenau is one of the best places to stay in the Spreewald! It's a small, quiet village, yet it has many restaurants and cafes, a train station, and offers many possibilities for outdoor activities (I recommend renting a kayak to visit the Spreewald canals!). The village itself is really cute and the breathtaking Spreewald scenery is right nearby.
If you book a hotel or pension there, you get a discount card which allows you to use the local bus and train for free, and gives you discounts for many tourist activities!
I recommend visiting Lübbenau in the spring or in the fall, when nature is the most beautiful and there aren't too many tourists around. It can get really crowded in the summer.

Lübbenau is a cute little town, it's fun to walk around there, but what is even better is to take a boat, kayak, or bike further into the Spreewald and explore there. We went from Lübbenau to Lehde and it was really fun to explore the canals. Everything is really beautiful. The whole area is calm and quiet but also offers a lot of fun things to do. Will definitely come back!
Beautiful area, quiet at night, parking behind hotel, great breakfast selections, close to grocery, shopping and site seeing. Staff very personable; but only certain staff can speak English (and not always on duty). I spoke German, so it was OK for me. The train others complained about was no issue. No clacking, or whistles. Just a whooshing sound. Earplugs take care of that easily enough. For the price, it was fine. Clean. Very warm due to no A/C if outside temp gets to 80+ degrees F. We bought a fan and survived! :)
The hotel is in excellent location - in the old center of Lubbenau, in the small street with nice old buildings, close to the Gross Haven. The room is small but had everything we need, including the electric kettle. The breakfast was very good, especially when the staff suggested and cooked - scrambled eggs with bacon). Once we had dinner in the hotel restaurant, it was also nice. The staff was friendly, did everything we asked, helped to carry our luggage to the room.
The apartment was large, stylish & comfortable. breakfast is served to the room on a Sunday & was plentiful & delicious. On site restaurant was excellent. the staff were friendly & very helpful despite the language barrier.
Schloss Beuchow is a 10 minute drive to the the centre of lubbenau & the Spreewald boat tours.
We would definitely recommend staying here whilst visiting the area.
In the most incredible location…the village of Lehde in Spreewald…utter tranquility, clean, comfortable (!!) beds, pillows & room, such a nice staff, especially Maria at the reception desk! Excellent breakfast, nice that we could rent bicycles at the hotel. We loved it and hope to return.
I like a calm place, really big, comfortable beds, their hotel meals(breakfasts/dinners) included in the acommodation price, and the garrage for the motorbike! Yes they have ones for the guests with the motorbikes. Great 👍 The personal is very sweet and servile. I will book this place again.
The hotel is just amazing!
The staff was very friendly and welcoming
The food was delicious and the rooms were big and comfortable and clean!
The area is quiet and you can relax well
Walking distance 20 minutes is the penguin Bad which was nice to do on an evening.
This is a charming little hotel. They have bikes available to rent. The area gets few American tourists and very little English is spoken. That being said, everyone was friendly and helpful and we were able to easily make our way around town.
We liked the interior design of the rooms and cozy atmosphere. The Spree-Chalet is very close to the main street and harbor of Lübbenau. The host was very nice and gave us execellent advice about nearby attractions and events.
Very comfortable hotel with a park in a good location
- Very good breakfast
- Possibility to regulate the temperature in the room and bathroom
- Excellent staff. All issues were quickly resolved.
Family friendly down to the smallest details! The service was wonderful and the facilities sparkling clean. Best hotel breakfast we have had in a while. The kids loved it and we loved it! 5 stars.
