The whole camping area was amazing, the tent is so cozy and spacious at the same time. We loved especially chilling outside on the porch and using the private barbecue for dinner. The tents are quite spread out so there's a very intimate and quiet atmosphere. We spent a lot of time just hanging out in the tent area rather than exploring the island because it was so nice! Very friendly and helpful staff.

Luxury Tent - Bird Sanctuary - Organic Farming: Experience authentic organic farm life, while staying in our big luxury cotton tents right next to Ølene bird sanctuary. Connect with friends, family or your partner under the stars and get up close with nature. Listen to the sound of summer delivered by the skylark from your terrace. Prepare our organic and biodynamic products on your gasgrill, and grab something cold to drink from your fridge. Take a walk to the nearby birdwatching towers. Tent and toilet facilities: Our spacious 24m² to 38m² tents with 100% cotton canvas ensure the right balance between breathability and waterproofness, which creates a comfortable indoor climate. The tent is furnished with a big double bed, two bedside tables with reading lights, a coffee table, a retro refrigerator, skin blankets, pure over coffee from Kenya and an electric kettle. The bed is equipped with quality mattresses, musk duvets, wellpur pillows, and cotton linens. Each tent has a private bathroom within 100 meters distance next to the parking area.
My name is Mathias. I grew up on Mønstergård on the beautiful island of Bornholm. Mønstergård is a family farm that my grandfather, Alfred Kure, bought in 1949. My dad, Thor Kure, took over the farm from his dad in 1987 and the farm became organic in 1997. In March 2022, I returned to Denmark after working with the development organization ActionAid in Kenya for four years, which might explain the Kenyan details you will find in the tent. We have created a hassle-free food concept if you wish to taste our organic products. First you buy and collect a food basket in a separate fridge with the ingredients to prepare our luxury burger at Mønstergård 400 meters from your tent. The food basket contains bread made from our ancient grain types and our juicy, tasty beef. Secondly, you prepare the meal on your private grill by the tent.
For more than 30 years has my dad, Thor Kure, raised cattle grazing in the middle of the bird sanctuary Ølene, where wildflowers with fantastic names such as Mjødurt, Kæruld, Søpryd, Leveurt, Bakke-Gøgelilje and Slangetunge grow among Cranes, Sea Eagles and lots of Greylag Geese. Pack a basket with food and experience the bird sanctuary around sunset from one of the 3 lookout towers that are within walking distance from the tent. For those interested in nature conservation it can be added that the Limousine cattle ensure a diverse and robust nature in Ølene through rewilding. There are stunning bike and hike trails in the forest surrounding the farm, Almindingen. The island of Bornholm is small and getting from A to B is not a hassle on bikes or with a car. You can use our large garden which is ideal for outdoor badminton, football and the like. If you are adventurous try explore our protected forests, which among other things house a Stone Age tomb or look at the many biodynamic crops such as hemp and emmer that grow on the fields or visit the horses and cows at our lake and meadow enclosures.
