Overall a really nice hostel! It honestly doesn’t feel like a hostel with how nice the rooms are and how clean they feel. The rooms are nice, the beds are comfy, there’s AC, and there’s a filtered water jug in the lobby. The owner is really nice too. Not quite in the main area of town, but the walk isn’t that far.

The Acacia is a lovely hotel. In addition to the large comfortable rooms with modern bathrooms, the staff is wonderful. I cannot say enough about the level of professionalism, kindness and hospitality provided. One of the staff members even accompanied us to the medical clinic. Breakfast was also a treat. Location is just off the main square. Very easy walk to everything.

A small but beautiful city.
A small but beautiful city. It was a fishing village but has been transformed to a tourist town. The main street -- Ave. Charles Darwin, is full of life, literally -- sea lions, iguanas, pelicans, etc. It's an adventure like no other.

It's a nice, friendly town.
It's a nice, friendly town. It's got plenty of ATMS, several grocery stores, and a lovely oceanfront walk. The fish market is a must see in the morning. There are sea lions who hang around waiting for scraps. I also saw iguanas and pelicans waiting for handouts. There's very nice bars, restaurants, and market stalls. It's a little spendy, because you're on an island. There's things you can do for free, on your own. There's also TONS of tour companies running day trips to all the nearby islands. You can walk most anywhere, and there are cheap taxis as well.

The touristy part and the harbor to the Darwin research...
The touristy part and the harbor to the Darwin research center was full of shops, restaurants both cheap and expensive, street food, and travel agencies. People are friendly and it’s clean and safe.
Los Kiosko is an intense street where people are coming at you with menus trying to get you come to them - at the same time. But they have specials for $5 lunch or dinner plus a regular menu with cheap meals too. Great Ecuadorian food! We ate ice cream everyday! There was a little froyo place on Baltra and a gelato place down the same street closer to the harbor that was excellent. We found pan de yucca at a street food vendor that was magical, though not always open.
Sea lions are everywhere near the water (not in the same capacity as San Cristobal but still).
You can watch blue footed boobies diving into the water all the time and the frigits are out in mass as well!
Everyone is happy.
Also we found our favorite travel agency with the Galapagos Living Travel Agency. They were fair priced and hilarious. Lots of laughs and planning of epic next day adventures.

We liked the laid-back feeling when the main road was closed...
We liked the laid-back feeling when the main road was closed in the evening and the music of the street musicians. We also liked the accessibility of shops, beaches, wildlife, information centre and harbour,
Above all, we appreciated every smiling face and helpful citizen in town.

Diving with Macarrons was fantastic.
Diving with Macarrons was fantastic. Burgers at Golden Prague are amazing. Head to the fish cleaning spot in front of Macarrons in the morning to watch some entitled pelicans and cheeky seals hassling the fishers. Plenty of cheap laundromats in town so no need to bring everything you own. Pizza Italia is great value.
Patricia and Washington were wonderful hosts, always accommodating us and making sure we had everything we needed while respecting our privacy. The house is beautiful, extremely comfortable, and clean. Beds were remade every day and we received new towels regularly. Great jacuzzi. It was sad to leave. It is about a 10 min walk from the main street in Puerto Ayora where all the restaurants and national park were. Plenty to do with affordable taxis nearby to get you where you need to go if you don’t like walking.
The hotel itself was cool and quirky, the main reason why I booked this place. I believe all rooms are individually decorated which is a nice touch. The location of the hotel is quiet but close enough to the fish market and a few restaurants, no where in puerto ayora is difficult to get to by walking it's only a small town.
The shower was hot once the tap had been run and I'd say that the WiFi was 'Decent' compared to other hotels on the island.
Good breakfast, nice hotel in a walking distance from town centre (or you can take a taxi for 1-1.5 dollars) and great, friendly and very helpful staff – a guy from reception took care about me during the whole stay and organised all trips (to Isabela, Pinzón, Seymour Norte and Santa Cruz- El Chato) for me with a local agency for better price, than you can find on internet.
Great Place to stay in Puerto Ayora. Close to the center with all the restaurants and piers. Hotel is safe and located in a side street. Area is very quiet. Beds are comfy, rooms are big, Wifi and airconditioning works great. Owners are really friendly and helpful! Breakfast is amazing. Unfortunately we could stay only one night. Great location in Puerto Ayora with many restaurants, bars, and stores within easy walking distance. The port/pier is also very close. I booked 2 nights and changed rooms after the first because it wasn't the room I had reserved and paid. Both rooms were very spacious, second room had refrigerator and small balcony. There was free filtered water at check in area.
Second floor apartment located across from the ferry dock in Puerto Ayora. Good value for family of 4. Excellent location with lots of restaurants and shops nearby. Modern apartment is large and quiet with a functional kitchen, living area and large bedroom with 2 queens. Plenty of closet space, Wifi worked fine, A/C in bedroom.
right in the center of Puerto Ayora
2 minutes walk from the port (departing tours and boats for other islands) and the buses (airport)
staff was nice and organized my diving tour and my Isabela day tour
complimentary water, hot drinks
rooms are done everyday
wifi is pretty good for the Galapagos except in the rooms
We felt right at home as soon as we arrived. The place is very clean, big, very functional but most of all the family that runs it is sweat and very helpful. They booked trips, ferries, even made recommendations to enjoy the time. If you are in Puerto Ayora, Gala House is the perfect place to stay.
great location right by the pier in puerto ayora. the place seems very dated and old, but comfortable enough for a few nights, especially considering the price. there is a kitchen with free drinking water. there was a nice, remote controlled fan which kept the room cool. i would stay here again
Mercedes is a very very nice host and very attentive. For my stay I felt a bit at home, I liked the beautiful place a lot, also because not being in the center of Puerto Ayora. The patio is great for reading outside even when raining.
The property was in a great location, right by the trailhead of Tortuga Bay and also by Laguna de Ninfas, also very short walk to the center of Puerto Ayora. The pool and hot tubs were great. Overall the hotel was good.
Beautiful hostel, very quiet which was great as Puerto Ayora can be a bit too noisy. The room was very clean, spacious and comfortable. Don Carlos was great, helpful and accommodating.
I would stay there again!
Perfect location! Honestly the best hotel on the island. So cozy. The restaurant is amazing and beautiful view. Every day right at my feet were sea lions, crabs, pelicans and fish. It was a dream .
Nice hostel in downtown Puerto Ayora. Comfortable room, large bed, quiet. Shared kitchen useful to make breakfast. Possible to do laundry. Cleaning of the room done every day.
Good central location in Puerto Ayora. Useful to have access to the kitchen to make breakfast / prep lunches etc. Room was clean. Good value accomodation.
