The hostel is the nicest hostel building I’ve ever stayed in - and it is kept impeccably clean by the staff. I also really liked the staff who were super helpful, providing great info for hiking on the island. And Vallehermoso is a great location, with a few supermarkets and a couple really good authentic restaurants. Buses regularly visit the small village.

I only stayed for two nights but it was a great time! Since it's a really small hostel you get to know everyone staying there including the staff. It's very familiar and more like a shared flat. I met some really nice people there and the whole atmosphere is really relaxed and warm so that you quickly feel like you're staying in your own home. They have an epic roof terrace with a beautiful view across the village and the surroundings. It's very clean and the facilities were really good. Overall I had a great experience in the hostel and felt very welcomed and the staff is super friendly!!! Would only recommend.

    Hi! Our wifi works perfectly in all the hostel, including our roof terrace. You can work in our living or terrace ( both are quite) :)

    You can get there by car or by bus. Line 2 connects San Sebastian with Vallehermoso. The bus stop is very close to the port

In December 2020 and a few months from celebrate one year with pandemic, we decided to start a new project and give life to the old telegraph house. Telegraph Hostel, the first hostel on the island of La Gomera. A place created for all the people who visit La Gomera feel at home. A place to share, dream and remember.

Property info

A bit of history: "Casa de Telégrafos", is how this house is popularly known, in Vallehermoso, due to the fact that there was the telegraph office and the telegraph operator's house, from 1930 to the 70s, (approximately ), that this service was withdrawn from the village. As of that date, the family regains its possession, in a dilapidated state. In 2001, after the corresponding negotiations and family agreements, Pedro Eloy and Gloria took possession of the house, beginning their rehabilitation in successive summers, from 2011 to 2015, which ended, from that point on, until December. of 2.016, it is used in furnishing, equipping, dressing, and corresponding procedures, in order to "register" it as a Vacation Home.

Neighborhood info

Telegraph Hostel, is in the historic center of Vallehermoso, very close to: the Parish Church, the Medical Center, the Pharmacy, Town Hall, different restaurants, supermarkets, squares, etc. To get to Vallehermoso, it is done mainly, by means of the regular line of Buses Gomera, or through taxis; we are 40 km away. of the Capital of the Island, and in the central point, of the network of trails in the north of the Island, through which, you can visit such important sites as the Garajonay National Park (World Heritage Site), different viewpoints of the Island, insular cultural centers, etc. From abroad, the island can be reached by plane at La Gomera airport, located in the municipality of Alajeró, from where regular bus and taxi lines depart. Another option are the ferries, through the shipping companies, "Armas" or "Fred Olsen", from Los Cristianos (Tenerife), which also link with the rest of the Island, by the aforementioned means. In Vallehermoso, there are occasional markets, different events, cultural or holidays that are organized mainly by the City Council or the Island Council.
