A typical rural Spanish hotel set in an interesting historical village. We used this as an overnight stop on the way to the ferry. 2 hours from Bilbao was just right. Very friendly. Covarrubias was just passed Lerma and we stopped there in the morning on our way out.

The hotel is beautifully renovated and the floors solid wood with traditional but new furniture. It is next to a church and on a cobbled square with a great cafe bar in the hotel and a wonderful choice of restaurants serving tradition Spanish food

In the village it was very quiet on a Monday in late November. We did not see any other guests in the hotel either. Owner is a pleasant man who can give you useful tips for your stay.
